SOURCE: soap dispenser door doesn't open during cycle of my Maytag dishwasher

Kqon, looks like your dispenser has a wax motor. I think the first thing you have to do is remove the inner door and inspect the soap dispensor assy. See if any of the moving parts are broken. This wax motor is 120V so you can run a cheater cord to it to see if it works, but be very careful when doing this. It will expand the plunger and open the flap. If the wax motor operates with 120V applied to it then you want to see if you have power coming from the timer. It will be the tan wire # 27 on the timer harness. You also want to make sure the spring and pin are in place on the dispenser flap. Your part number for the wax motor is 902899. Catriver.

SOURCE: soap dispenser

A wax motor controls the opening of the lid. Also a seal that fits around the latch lever may be deteriorating and obstructing the function of the lever. Follow the link below for images and part numbers with cost.

Water temperature may not be hot enough or something is blocking the soap door so water can't spray into it.

SOURCE: Soap dispenser door doesn't open for the second cycle.

Hi, the soap dispenser has a motor / solenoid which controls the latch that opens the door. This has gone bad and needs to be replaced. It is located inside the dishwasher door panel. Remove the screws around the inside of the door to gain access to the solenoid. If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to comment again. Good Luck!! Mike

The soap dose not dispence

Hi

Dishwashers use Bi-Metal strip to allow the dispenser to open/close. This strip when heat up causes the soap door spring to open up the dispenser. If this strip is not heated doesn't allow the door to open. The strip may not be getting 120V or maybe disconnected. Newer (plastic liner) Maytag dishwashers use a wax motor to open the soap dispenser. The plunger inside the wax motor slowly moves and pushes the plunger and door open. And, if this wax motor doesn't receive 120 volts, then it

The soap dish opened, but the dishes were not cleaned. The soap remains on the door even after two or three wah cycles. Checked all of the buttons.

Since you mention that your dishwasher has a dispenser has a flap that opens but detergent does not come out, the problem could be the wash water is not getting to it.

Can you confirm if during wash cycle the water is circulating especially through the top wash arm.

Keep a small container on the top rack and see if there is water collected in it at the end of cycle. Alternatively run the dishwasher with door open (you will have to find a way to enable the door switch inside the latch).

Please post a comment to confirm what you observe.

Water is coming up through the kitchen sink when dishwasher is running and teh soap depenser will not release the soap.

Soap door opens--but not all soap gets used-

low water pressure, will cause this problem, as the water is not being forced about the dishwasher, you may have a blocked filter.
