I think we are fine i work for a GE authorized company and had factory training on this machine but the instructor from GE didnt have enough manuals for everyone on the harmony, and lo and behold i finally worked on 2 machines. Have you worked on this machine very often?? I unlocked the control finally after replacing the entire bearing/mechanical assy which includes the clutch coupler and the machine now seems to be somehow locking the infuser and the basket during infuser wash and preventing either from moving and i can hear the inverter trying to turn the motor but no movement. Its also hard to command the clutch shifter motor from locked to unlocked since ,i believe, there is no test for this in diagnostics, I have seen it move so I know the motor is ok. but you never really know what the control is comanding.

Been so busy lately havent had any time to work on it lately. I plan to do more tests on the clutch coupler and see why its binding in infuser wash. Thanks again for the job aid on it.

Hey thanks again for the help with the Harmony washer. I got a service call on a PSH dual evap Arctica SxS and only have the manual for the single evap PSS and GSS models. If you have this manual would you mind shooting it to my email?? Thanks in advance

Hold on a minute. That is factory test mode. I just found field test mode. Will try to get it into comments.

    Overview

The washer control has a field service mode that

can be accessed by the service technician in

order to give critical information on the status of

various components of the washer. This mode will

aid the service technician in quickly identifying

failed or improper operation of components and

    systems.

The service mode does not use error codes to

identify problems. Instead, the LCD screen

displays a list of components or systems to be

checked if a problem is detected.

    To enter the service mode:

Note: Once the service mode is entered, all

    membrane keypanel buttons are disabled.

    1. Press the POWER key to turn the washer on.

    a. If the washer is on and the HOME screen

is displayed, proceed to step 2. If the

home screen is not displayed, press

    HOME on the keypanel.

No problem. I would do the same if you came by the shop and needed to look at a manual for one of your customers machines. I don't know if I broke any copyright laws, but we can keep it between us.

I have only had one call on this machine and it was to show a lady how to select her wash cycles. I have never been into it mechanicaly except for the class we went to and I remember little of that. I will look at the manual and see if I can come up with anything that may help.

  • Michael Lindley

Look at page 36 of the manual about how the clutch works. It tells how to check the clutch motor. It seems that you should be able to check the voltage at the board when it changes position to see what the board is doing(page 22). I am leaning toward a mechanical problem somewhere. The board is telling it to disengage but something is keeping the coupler from dropping out. Have you tried raising and lowering the coupler shaft by hand to see how it feels?

You could unplug the clutch from the control and use a jumper wire to power the clutch and see if the shifter motor is binding somehow. Though I am sure this is not a factory authorized diagnostic check I don't see why it wouldn't work.

I think I would check the voltage and ohm out the shifter motor. If they are ok I bet it is a mechanical problem with the shifter or shaft.

My ge profile harmony washing machine has a message that says "a problem has been detected with this unit."

Washers - Harmony Washer Error Message or Code
The Harmony washer electronics can automatically determine if problems exist with the machine. Sometimes an error code can also be present because of things the machine cannot control: like changes in house voltage, water pressure, or temperature.

"A problem has been detected with this unit" will be displayed on the screen.

The most common solution for this message is to turn the machine OFF and then ON. However, this message will sometimes cause the control to stop the machine from working. With this type of error, the control panel will need to be reset. The following steps will allow you to reset your control.

Solution:

1. Clear the ERROR from the screen: Press and hold the MY CYCLES and BACK buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. The control will display any recorded errors. Please write down what error codes are shown on your screen in case service is needed. If a MORE icon is displayed on the screen, press MORE to list additional errors. When the EXIT button appears, press EXIT.
2. Remove Power: Follow the onscreen instructions to remove power (unplug unit) and then immediately plug unit back in.
3. Clear Setup Mode: After power is restored, a setup screen that begins with "Congratulations..." will be shown. DO NOT PRESS the OK button shown at the bottom of the screen. Press the START/STOP and POWER buttons simultaneously until the Home Screen is displayed. Your unit is ready to function normally.
