Question about Computers & Internet

Scrolling glides down rather than going line by line

We have another Toshiba laptop, Satellite Pro, which scrolls down, line by line; this one of a friend kind of glides down, makes me dizzy! I can't find any place to change it to like our other Toshiba. This one is an A25 S207 Satellite. Just had eyes dilated to check for glasses, and can't read small print of Terms of Use; if a free service, I'll appreciate it; but cannot pay for information. Thank you.

I compared the two computers, and everything on the mouse part seems to be set the same way. The only place where it says lines at a time is on the wheel part, and they are both set on 3 lines a time. Do you have any other ideas? I appreciate your help.

It happens on everything, AOL, e-mail, subjects that I look up information on, everything.

I am using a Microsoft 3000 wireless mouse, a new one. It works with my Sony laptop and also with the other Toshiba. Tell me where I can give the highest FIXYA rating, as you have tried very hard to help me. All I saw was where you rated YES or NO.

  • ldouthit May 21, 2009

I rated the help as very helpful, because he worked very hard giving me all kinds of ways to solve my problem. I'll keep working on them, and maybe one of them will eventually work and solve my problem.

This should get you in the right place to make these changes. You may want to do this on both machines and see which setting are selected on the one you like and change the other.

1.Go to the start button.
2.Click on the control panel.
3.Then open up the mouse function.
4.You should be able to change the functions of the mouse.
It may be set on several lines at a time.

This is for free. Premium services are charged for.

Does this happen in all programs? Word, Explorer,...

If not then it may be linked to the program.

    Let me know.

I changed my wheel part to 1 and it seems to move better. You might want to try that.

What kind of mouse are you using? There may be dirvers for that, and I can locate these for you.

I would check the Microsoft software that controls the mouse. It may have features that will allow you to do much more than windows will.

I have never rated on FixYa, I guess that you would check yes first and then rate it. Thank you so much.
