Replaced brake pads on 2004 silverado now both sides are sticking

You can't put new pads on & not turn the rotors

You have to remove all rust from both sides of rotor,
wheel hub face,pad & caliper abutements,slipper,siding
surfaces & lube moving parts

There is more to brake maintenance or service than hanging
a pad as the brake places do,then you have problems

Chevy cavalier jerks when stopping

Possible brake issue caused by warped rotor or sticking brake caliper. If it pulses when braking have the rotors turned or replace them. Would also replace the brake pads while you have it apart. Old pads should be the same thickness for both inboard and outboard pad. If one is thinner than the other it is an indication that the caliper is sticking or hanging up.

check the caliper it may be hanging up also check the rubber brake hose sometimes they collapse or swell causing drag either way you probably need 2 calipers and new lines(hoses) along with pads.

Dropped brake caliper now the brake piston is sticking ,could i have messed the brake line up ,thecaliper was hanging by the brake line

Most likely not,the caliper,or the brake hose is the problem, pump up the brake pedal, and see if the wheel will freeze up,when you release the brake pedal,if so,brake loose the bleeder on the caliper,if the caliper frees up,then the brake hose is the problem,if it does not free up,replace the caliper.

Ford Escape 2001 model - brake pedal sticking

What pushes the pedal back when you release the pedal is a strong spring inside the master cylander that pushes on the piston that moves the brake fluid to the calipers and wheel cyls. This spring should last the life of the master cyl. and replaceing the master cyl. is the only way I know of to replace your weak spring or a piston that is hanging up. Check all the linkage under the dash to be sure that there is not a problem with your pedal linkage that is causing your problem
