turn your tv on then hold the tv button down until all the little buttons on top begin to blink one at a time. it's about a 10 count. then the tv light will remain on while the light is on put in the code and the light will blink after the code is entered. if it is the right code your tv will turn off.

SOURCE: Direct TV remote "tv input" button won't work with my Sony TV

I came across this looking for a similar solution for my Samsung TV, and I found the solution on ehow.com. Apparently after you program the remote for your TV you have to hold mute and select again until it flashes twice then put in 960 to make the remote control TV input too. Note you're remote should be in TV mode while you do this. It seems silly that the DirectTV guy wouldn't do this when programming the remote.

I'm using a remote provided by my cable company the problem is the remote programing codes they have don't work for my tv. They told me to contact the tv manufacturer to get additional codes. Can you help?

I would just go through the manual setup for the remote. most controls have a function that instead of inputing a code, you press the up channel button until your television turns off. immediately after finding that point, follow the instructions to set that code in place. usually the instructions are printed somewhere on the remote.

Lost remote. Trying to change tv input to tv video 3.

Unfortunately, you do need a remote with a TV/Video Input/Source button. http://www.remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=gmi&uuid=12931505715290&smodel=32AF45&brand_pn=TOSHIBA_32AF45 has a substitute with all of the features including the TV/Video button. Any remote programmed 6 months after the TV was released will probably have a code that works with the TV. However, the lowest end ones often do not have an Input or Source button. With a remote with that button, it may take a while to find a code that matches all of the features (keep trying).

Any of the universal remotes that can be programmed via a USB connection to a computer will work with much less effort.

I hope this helps.

Need code for mitsubishi tv

THE codes for programming RCA Universal Remote Control to a Mitsubishi TV are 006, 011, 014, 019, 022, 027, 041, 056, 061 and 068.

But then if it will not work on these codes you can try these steps for you to be able to program your remote control without the code.

  1. Manually turn ON your TV
  2. Press and "HOLD" CODE SEARCH
  3. Press and release the TV button you want to set up.The TV button will flash once.
  4. Release CODE SEARCH.
  5. Press OFF/ON repeatedly until the TV turns off (you may have to press up to 100 times at a rate of once per second).
  6. Once the TV turns off, press and release ENTER.
  7. With the TV on, press any other button. If the device responds, no further programming is required. If the device does not respond, repeat steps 1-6.

How do i program this remote to a mitsubishi tv?

  • Manually turn on the device you wish to scan for (e.g. TV)
  • Perform Power Scan by pressing and holding (approximately 3 seconds)the desired DEVICE MODE button TV, VCR, CBL, DVD or SAT until the status indicator light begins to blink.
  • Press and release the PWR (power) button. The status indicator light will stop blinking and stay ON at this point.
  • Press and release slowly and patiently the blue UP ( ? ) button to scan forward through the code database. To scan backward through the code database, press and release the blue DOWN ( ? ) button. Each time you press the up or down arrow, the remote will try and turn off the device (TV, VCR etc) you originally selected.
  • When the device (TV,VCR etc.) responds by shutting off, press the ENTER button. This will store the code
  • in memory and you will see three blinks of the status indicator light to confirm the code input. Be patient, there are over 100 codes to search through.

Mitsubishi tv model no. CS-2567R

I had no luck finding anything for this model number even on the Mitsubishi site. How old is this set?

I would try programming the remote to some alternate codes for Mitsubishi products. It sounds like it's not programmed correctly. If you don't have the codes I would search the web for your brand of universal remote to see if you can find it's instructions. Lastly, on the topic of the remote, most universal remotes have a method to program even when you don't know the codes. This usually involves turning on the TV then putting the remote into a specific mode and hitting the power button until the TV shuts off.

How are you connecting the dvd/vcr? Are you using a single coaxial cable (the kind with the threaded connector) or are you using composite cables (yellow, red, and white plugs) or some other type of cable? If you're using the coaxial cable then you will typically find the signal on channel 3 or 4 on the TV when the source is set to tuner. If you're using one of the other methods then you will need to find a button on the set labled something like "Video Source" or "TV/Video". If you hit that button the TV will switch through it's input sources. It's very possible that this feature will not be available on your Universal remote even if it's programmed properly. You may have to select the source on the TV itself.

Good luck and let me know if any of this helps.
