There must be a blockage in your drain system either right at the toilet or further along in the system. You will have to have someone check it out right away as these problems typically do not clear themselves up.

Why does my toilet occationaly overflow with no solid waste and just toilet paper

Not really. I believe there is a clog in the trap. This happened to us last year. I took the toilet up and found a cloth in the trap ad a pencil. This fixed the problem. Now some traps are poorly designed and meet only minimum specs. Before taking it up, take a hose and force water down it wide open , this could blast out the obstruction.

The little hose that attaches to and pours water into the long vertical tube (to fill the tank) has slipped off twice and sends water over the side of the tank and floods my bathroom floor. The little...

to get a new one would require a new fill valve for your toilet, or a local plumber might have one rolling around on his truck.

try a paper clip, one thats a little bigger than the tube. slide it onto the tube, then clip it onto the fill tube like you would a piece of paper, this works in most cases.

IIt sounds like you need a new fill float assembly. First replsce the shut off valve at the wall if it's broken. The fill valve is easy to vhage. Set shut off point 5/8" from top of overflow drain tube. -Good Luck, Ned-

Toilet tank looses water over time

As long as there is no water leaking from the tank to bowl connection, you are OK. You would know if it was leaking here, because you would have water dripping out onto the floor.

Verify that the water level in your tank is below the top of your new flush valve's overflow tube. If the water level comes to the top, it will overflow into the toilet bowl. This can be easily fixed with an adjustment to the fill valve.

If the water is not overflowing into this tube, then the only way you can lose water is through the flapper. You said you changed the flush valve, which would have come with a new flapper attached to it, but maybe buy a new flapper and see what happens???

Your problem is not with the washing machine. I suspect that the drain line for your toilet is obstructed further down the line than your snake can reach. If you have a clean out riser to your sewer system, flush the toilet while someone else is watching the flow past the clean out. I would say that renting a sewer line snake at a tool rental like Home Depot would solve your problem. Good luck

The water continued to fill the drum and overflowed onto the floor

ONE OF TWO THINGS----YOUR WATER VALVE IS STUCK OPEN OR THE LOAD SELECTOR (SMALL MEDIUM LARGE LOAD) IS NOT WORKING,SO IT DON'T KNOW IF IT IS FULL OR NOT.

Toilet was running and somehow overflowed flooding our first floor. Could not reproduce the event. Have heard of this problem?

Yes, I think of is the float ball got stuck and didn't come up all the way. Some don't have a float ball but same idea, a lever got stuck. I'd be real careful because, it might happen again when you don't expect it.

The emptying of your washer caused suction through the sewer and cleared the clog of the toilet for you. Odd but possible. You do not have sewage in your washer though. Run through rinse cylce to clear out remaining water.
