Question about GE 28300EE1
When I reset the Month, day and time and then I call my home the GE phone goes to a wrong month and day. My month on GE phone shows July 21, 2009 and time is like 12 hrs off. I keep changing to May 20, 2009 and put correct time and when incoming calls comes in my calls show July 21 or 22 2009 example. I have talked to my phone service people and they say it is the phone but all my other cordless phones which another one is AT & T and it says July 21 etc 2009 also on incoming calls. My phones will not show May 2009. Last correct date was May 15, 2009 on my CID.

What is "Bell" and "Cogeco"? Did you change phone line provider companies? If so, you would need to ask them if it's possible to change. You are getting the information they are sending you. I do not believe the information is being altered by your phone.

I doubt it's the battery. As I understand it the base works fine and the problem is only with a cordless phone. Are you using an external charger stand for the cordless handset? These phones need to be registered to the base unit. That is usually done by installing the cordless phone in the base unit but you may need to do that shortly after insalling the battery or you could have a register button or setting.

You have to register the hand set in the main base. Place each handset in the base for 15 seconds minimum. It will change form unavailable to Ready when it grabs the signal from the base. If the power goes out, you will have to re-register each hand set in the base before you use them again.

I had the same problem recently due to a power outage during a storm. GE advised to disconnect the power cord and telephone cord on the "mother" unit. Wait five minutes. Then plug it back in.
I placed the "mother" phone back in the base. After the screen flashed on the "mother" phone, I removed it and then put the other two portables in the "mother" base.
This corrected my problem and all is now well.
