Question about Samsung Galaxy Cell Phones

Open Question

Samsung Galaxy S3 IMEI not detected by the phone and hence SIM network not displayed. What should I do?

A Samsung Galaxy S3 phone I got from somebody does not actually show network when a SIM is inserted.Initially, I have no idea why there is no network displayed, but after a thorough diagnosis,I realized that the phone IMEI does not appear.I then come to conclusion that the absent of the IMEI is surely the problem for the lack of SIM function. Do I have to rewrite the software to remedy the problem? if yes, how do I have to go about that? I would be grateful if you could kindly put me through.Earnestly waiting for your reply.

Maybe your phone is locked to AT&T. I've searched the net to find the unlock codes for my fone and it worked. Search for code calculators for SGH x426. The instruction is also included in their websites. It's fairly easy. Also, make sure that your sim is from the network provider in your country.

There are two probable causes.
1. You have inserted sim incorrectly. Remove SIM and insert properly with golden contacts facing the contacts in phone.
2. Your SIM card might be damaged. Try with another SIM card and if it works, then you have to replace your sim card.
If nothing works, you have to take your phone to some service centre
