Question about Ryobi Garden

I changed the fuel line going from the fuel tank to the primer bulb and now my weedeater will not stay running and my primer bulb is not holiding fuel.

    You were right and thanks for the help, the other fuel lines were also bad. I have changed all of them, but I am having a problem re- installing the fuel filter in the tank that is not a fun chore. Is the fuel tank vented or should it have pressure on it?

Make sure the fuel line is a good fit to the carb. ... If is sucking any air at all it won't run right.. Also check that the fuel line in the tank is still hooked up...

    The fuel filters can be a pain in the but sometimes... If you can't get it on they sell them with smaller nipples...



    The tank is vented.. Sometimes they'll use a little plastic check valve in the tank that doesn't have any hoses going to it, sometimes they'll use a little hose with a screw in it, I've even seen some with vents in the fuel cap... All the vent does is let air in the tank to replace the fuel that is used.. If you didn't have a vent the vacuum in the fuel tank would build up to the point that it prevents the carb. from sucking fuel...

    Under normal conditions the tank will not have any pressure in it, but it will have a very low vacuum.. The fuel tank can build pressure if the fuel expands from warming but it's not anything to worry about...

How to get gas on primer bulb


Make sure your fuel lines are tight and not leaking. I would also change the fuel filter that is in the gas tank.

Easy way to install fuel line and primer bulb return line into gas tank


Chainsaw fuel lines enter the gas tank from holes in top of tank. They are sized for a tight fit to prevent leakage. Make it easy on yourself when pushing the line through the tank by cutting a long lengthwise taper cut with razor knife 3 inches or longer to easily feed through that tight hole. Once started you will then have to grab it through the gas cap hole with needle nose pliers, then cut the tapered end flush and add fuel filter. Readjust inside length by pulling from above, then cut to length to upper carb fitting. If connecting to primer bulb a filter is not required and make sure the line goes to fitting on primer bulb marked tank.

I have a WEEDEATER XT125.I don't remember how the fuel lines from gas tank are routed to the primmer bulb and from there to the carb. HELP??/


the fuel line from the tank with the fuel filter on it goes to the inlet port of the carburetor then the inlet hose of the primer bulb goes to the outlet of the carburetor and the last hose goes from the outlet of the primer back to the fuel tank

What would be wrong with my weedeater when i press the primer bulb gas will start to come out of the gas cap ?


You could have a clogged tube from the primer into the carb, but it also sounds like the fuel tank is overfilled.

I'm trying to get an old weedeater/poulan 22" excalibur hedge trimmer running for my son. In the past someone has cut a fuel line going to primer bulb. I replaced that line and when I use the primer...


There are 2 different set ups for fuel lines on these 2 stroke carburetors. One has a remote primer/purge bulb and the other has the primer/purge bulb on top of the carburetor. Here are instructions on how both kind work and how to service them.

The small diameter line out of fuel tank (has filter in-tank on end) connects directly to the side of the carburetor that has the fuel pump....that is the cover without the hole in it. Other larger diameter fuel line out of tank connects to the longer nipple on the external purge/primer bulb. The bulb "pulls" fresh fuel from the fuel tank to the carb and then out of the carb to itself, where it then "pushes" any air/old fuel back into the fuel tank. The remaining larger diameter fuel line in this setup goes from the metering chamber (has cover with writing on it and a vent-hole) side of the carburetor to the smaller nipple on the purge/primer bulb. Again, on the primer bulb, the longer nipple has a line going directly from it to the tank. This is the return line. The shorter nipple on the bub has a line from it going to the metering chamber side of the carb. If the purge/primer bulb is on top of the carb...small line from carb body to small hole in tank with filter. Larger diameter line goes from the bulb on the fuel pump side of the carb to the larger hole in the fuel tank where sometimes the line is held in place with a nylon nipple connector that keeps the line from pulling out of the tank. Otherwise, the line should enter the tank for about 1/2" or so If you have any more questions, please post back. I will see your comment and be glad to help you,

I need a fuel line schematic for a WeedEater brand Featherlite Plus weedeater


Presuming the primer bulb is on top of the carb....Fuel filter line out of gas tank goes to the lower part if carburetor body. The other line (normally larger in size) coming out of the fuel tank goes to the primer bulb outlet on the top of carb.
If the primer/purge bulb is not on the carb, things are a little different. The fuel filter line out of the tank still goes directly to the carb, as the bulb will pull old fuel/air out of the carb allowing fresh fuel to flow in and pushes old fuel/air back to the fuel tank.
Fresh fuel in, old fuel out of the carb...you can hook up a piece of fuel line to the bulb and tell which one is pulling and which one is pushing..or depress it with your fingers on it...either way you can tell.

Routing of fuel lines for a weedeater bv200 type 2. Which lines go where from the carb into the tank?


The line with the filter goes to the bottom of the carb. The other line goes to the outlet side of the primer bulb and the other line from the primer bulb goes to the top of the carb (The primer sucks gas through the carb).

Ps. if you are not sure which nipple of the primer is the outlet port then put your finger on one of the ports and push the bulb. If the bulb stays ridged then that's the outlet and if it collapses but doesn't fill but up then that's the inlet side.

I re-tubed my trimmer and now the bulb won't prime


I had exactly the same problem. On my weedeater, there is a screen in the carb under the primer bulb that was dirty from the fuel line falling apart. After replacing the fuel line AND cleaning the screen, the primer bulb will move fuel and it runs great.

Craftsman leaf blower, primer bulb will not return, won't start


primer bulb on weedeater will not return to normal or **** gas into it. new primer bulb. lines to tank have been repalce and can blow through them but primer bulb will not push air into tank
