Question about Keurig Vue Brewing System

1 Answer

Keurig Vue touchscreen does not work

Fresh out of the box for Christmas, in room temperature home. Filled resevoir to max line with filtered water from fridge. Plugged it in, turned it on, and nothing. Am supposed to see a "not ready" signal with my three choices. That doesn't appear, and nothing that I touch on the touchscreen will respond. It looks alive, but is playing dead. Tried three times now to take the resevoir off and on, repeating the power button selection. Nothing.

If you can return it to the point of purchase for exchange, do so. You might opt for on-the-spot proof that the replacement works.

SOURCE: keurig B50

This didn't work for me, but I saw that it worked for someone on another forum, so here goes...

If you feel up to taking the bottom plate off your B50, take it off and look at the two connectors (blue & red wires) going to the green part in the center. The vibration of the B50 may have shaken them loose. Reseating the connectors may fix the problem.

Like I said, though, it didn't work for me. Still no love from the B50. It's just over 2 years old, though, so it's out of warranty. Maybe I'll see if I can weasel a B70 for Valentine's Day.

SOURCE: Coffee maker not working

Dear Sir/madam,

Please contact our Customer Service department at 1-866-901-BREW (2739) to make service arrangements.

and Try also

PREPARE
Step 1: Make sure you have 48 ounces of white vinegar on hand. You will also need an empty sink and a ceramic mug (do not use a paper cup.)
Step 2: Empty the water in the Water Reservoir b. FILL AND CLEAN
Step 1: Pour the vinegar into the Water Reservoir and fill it to the top edge of the clear viewing area.
Step 2: Place a ceramic cup in the Drip Tray and run a brew cycle. DO NOT USE A K-CUP…just press the Large Cup Button. Pour the contents of the cup into the sink.
Step 3: Repeat the brew process until the Water Reservoir is empty, pouring the contents of the cup into the sink after each cycle. Remember to open and close the lid between each cycle.
Step 4: Now fill reservoir with fresh water and let the Brewer stand for 4 hours while still on.
Step 5: Rinse the Water Reservoir thoroughly and fill with fresh water. c. RINSE Step 1: Ensure the Water Reservoir is filled with fresh water.
Step 2: Place a ceramic cup on the Drip Tray and run a regular brew cycle. Pour the contents of the cup into the sink.
Step 3: Repeat the brew process until the Water Reservoir is empty. Step 4: You may need to perform additional brew cycles if you notice any residual taste.

Regular cleaning (de-scaling) will prolong the life of the appliance. Scale is harmless, but left unattended, it can hinder optimal Brewer performance. De-scaling your Brewer regularly helps maintain the heating element, water reservoir and other parts of the Brewer that come in contact with water. Better water quality and water heating means a better cup of coffee. We recommend de-scaling your Brewer at least every 6 months (every three months if you are using hard water). The descaling process involves using 48 ounces of undiluted white vinegar.

Regular cleaning of the Brewer’s external components is recommended for proper operation. We recommend cleaning with a soapy, damp non-abrasive cloth. The K-Cup holder and funnel, drip plate, drip tray and removable water reservoir (on the Elite B40, Special Edition B60, and Platinum B70) are dishwasher safe. NOTE: the removable lid of the water reservoir is NOT dishwasher safe. The brewer should be descaled every 3-6 months.

SOURCE: I received a Special Edition Keurig for Christmas.

I had a similar problem, I solved it by removing the K-Cup holder assembly, and pulling the small bottom piece off (it just pops off easily). From there you can access the "Exit Needle", which is where the coffed comes out and which is prone to getting clogged with grounds. Once you pull that bottom piece off you can run a paper clip or something up through the bottom of the needle and dislodge any clogs. This procedure was listed on page 13 of my manual and worked great!

My Samsung Refrigerator side by side door ,,Model,,SRS583DHD,, left hand side door ice maker increases temp and not producing ice,,;-(,,Bot

Your description sounds like a loss of air flow problem. Check for overloading your freezer and fresh food side. In order for the freezer and fresh food side to work properly, the air vents need adequate room for air to circulate. I had a customer who completey filled the middle shelf with cardboard boxes and completely blocked air flow on the middle shelf The lower level near the evaporator was extremely cold and the upper area was room temperature in the freezer. Each shelf needs about an inch of room at the back and room between packaging to allow air to circulate.
Hope this helps

Water dispenser and ice maker are not working, water supply to refrigerator is ok.

Check / replace the filter. Many fridges have a filter readily accessible from the fresh food compartment. The filter should be changed at regular intervals for best performance. A filter that is never changed will reduce and eventually stop water flow through it.

Check the temperature of the fresh food compartment near the filter. It may be "flirting" with the 32 degree mark. If it is this low, water has turned to ice - and will stop water from flowing. Bump the temperature up a tad to see if it solves the problem.

Lastly, the water supply solenoid may have failed. You didn't provide the model fridge - so I can't give specific info about it - but many fridges have one or two solenoids at the rear of the fridge for water supply and ice makers. You should hear a clicking sound from the rear of the fridge on many models when dispensing water or when the ice maker cycles on. If one has failed, you may expect to pay about $15 to $50 for a replacement - depending model.

Typical GE Refrigerator Single Solenoid Water Inlet Valve "WR57X10033"

Solenoid valve replacement is pretty straight forward. Usually all the is needed are some simple hand tools and a rag to pick up spilled water. Make sure the water supply is shut off and unplug the fridge before attempting.

The top freezer is working but lower part refrigerator compartment doesn't cool at all even adjusting temperature to Max cooling??? It is like fan doesn;t blow cold air from the freezer

There is a drain that carries water from the freezer to a drain pan in the base of the fridge. It has plugged preventing water from draining and in turn the water has froze blocking the flow of air to the fridge. First you must find the drain line in the rear of the fridge and unplug it as well as thaw the fridge out overnight to allow the water to drain... be patient as there will be a lot of ice to be thawed out, let me know if it works! good luck!

I have just purchased the above unit and has been plugged in now for 24hrs with no food, the high humidity warning sign Is illuminated constantly Is this correct?? Also I have yet to witness the operation...

You didn't include a manufacturer or model, so I can only offer general help with your problem. If you choose to provide this info later, you may get better, more specific help. The freezer compartment contains the cooling coil for the freezer and fresh food compartments. This fan in many fridges are not visible - but yours may be. Yours may also have circulation fans specifically for moving air around the fresh food compartment.

Generally, the coil is located in a protected area of the freezer (behind the back panel). The fan is arranged to pull air from the freezer floor through the coil to be cooled and blown out the top of the freezer compartment. Openings between the freezer and fresh food compartment allows a portion of the cold air to be blown into the fresh food compartment.

The first thing to do is to see what the temperatures are in both compartments. The fresh food should be about 36 degrees and freezer -10 to 0 degrees Fahrenheit. Place a glass thermometer (capable of displaying 32 degrees and up) in a glass filled with cold tap water, and place in the fresh food compartment. Place another thermometer in the freezer (capable of reading -10 and up). You can also use thermometers designed for fridge / freezer temperatures if you wish.

If there is nothing in the fridge and the door remains shut, the temperature should be seen in an hour or so. If the temperature range is obtainable, it is not likely that there is a humid condition INSIDE the fridge. You may have moisture collecting on the OUTSIDE of the fridge near doors, etc. If so, locate a humidity switch and turn it on. Many manufacturers provide this switch to turn on electric heaters in the outer part of the fridge cabinet where moisture tends to form in humid climates. These heaters operate to evaporate the moisture on the cabinet and usually come on when the freezer defrost circuit is on.

I hope this helps and good luck!

What temperament should i put on my fridge?

Most fridge manufacturer's suggest 34 degrees F (but no lower) for the fresh food compartment, and 0 degrees F (lower is O.K.) for the freezer.

Measure temperature on the fresh food compartment by placing a thermometer in a 6 - 8 ounce glass filled with cold water. Place the glass with the thermometer on a shelf in the fridge. Wait about an hour or two (assuming the door stays shut) and check temperature. The water is to minimize changes shown on the thermometer when you open the fridge door.

I hope this helps & good luck! Please rate my reply. Thank you.

Water pressure at dispenser too low

I am assuming with this answer that you have already checked your line tap from the water source to the fridge to make sure it is fully opened.
This is usually caused by an overloaded filter or a kinked hose. Some refrigerators use a large coil of ice maker hose placed in the Fridge box which acts similar to the older model water tank/resevoirs. The problem inherent to this cheap solution is that the hose itself has a narrow diameter hole which can freeze easily or become clogged with sediment. Check your filter first, them try removing your coiled hose if present and flush with water or air pressure.
Remember that heat rises and cold sinks, so it is quite possible that the resevoir/coiled hose has become frozen.

NO ICE OR WATER. WATER IS GOING TO THE REFRIG. SER: FRS26ZRFW3

First, shut off the water coming to the fridge at the wall. Now, disconnect the water connection from back of fridge and check to see if there is a clogged strainer or inline filter at or before the connection to the fridge. Check flow by holding the supply hose over an empty pitcher and turning the supply gently back on. If pressure and flow are adequate, turn the water off and reconnect the supply back to the back of the refrigerator.
Next, remove the water filter from the fridge, (it should be in the upper right corner of the fresh food compartment) examine it to determine whether it is plugged. If not, empty as much of it as you can out of the ports on the back by shaking it over the sink or taking it outside. Now, put the filter back in, close the door and check for water. If none comes out of the dispenser, remove the filter again and see if it filled back up with water. If not, the problem is likely the inlet valve, an electrically operated valve right where the water comes into the fridge. You have to unplug the refrigerator, disconnect the water lines at both ends, pull the wires (there are 2) off the spade connectors on the valve and reconnect a new one. They are about 50 bucks or so. I doubt the problem is with a dispensing switch as I think you would not be deprived of ice. The fact that both ice and water are out lead me to believe you have a clog or a bad inlet valve. Best of luck tracking this one down and let us know if it worked! Merry Christmas.
