Polaris 330 mag, barely moves in reverse? possible ****** problems??

If the belt has been changed, the button ramps in the secondary clutch should have been checked. The secondary clutch has 3 ramps that tend to wear, and this will wear the clutch out if not replaced right away. To remove the secondary clutch (rear clutch) remove the clutch cover and belt. Remove the bolt from secondary clutch and pull clutch off. The clutch is on a splined shaft so a puller will not be necessary. To check the ramps inside the clutch, rotate the outer sheave clockwise while holding inner sheave stationary. You should be able to see the ramps, if not they have worn completely gone and the clutch will have to be disassembled. Check this and let me know what you find. I will be happy to assist if you need to disassemble the clutch, Daniel.

2011 polaris 500 sportsman ho ...going down hill it free wheels is this normal ?

Yes this is normal for the 2011 Sportsman 500. The 500 does not have a one way bearing in the clutch acting like an engine brake as do the previous years. Polaris removed this option for the 500 sportsman in 2009. If you were to own a 550 it would not free wheel down a hill.

Have 2001 polaris sportsman 4x4 and put new belt on and go only 20 mph than engine reves up but dont go faster please help

sounds like your clutch is stuck and wont open up to let belt drop in between pulleys. check both the drive clutch and the driven clutch fo no binding or for smooth operation. that would keep the wheeler in a low gear position

you must remove the clutches on the left side of the machine. this requires a special puller to remove the front clutch. everything else is straight forward. pullers are available at your dealer or on the web

I have a 96 polaris xplorer 3004x4 how do i get hillard clutch off

If you are removing the driven clutch, the rear most one, it simply slides off. if you are removing the drive clutch, the one on the motor, you need a 3/4" fine thread bolt. And something to use as a spacer, I used a socket that fit down the hole. just put the socket in first then tighten the bolt against it until the clutch pops off. Be careful you don't use anything that may bend in there and cause more headaches.

1990 polaris trailboss , trans ,or clutch slips in water

Check for wore clutch belt and also check to see if your getting water in the clutch housing. If your getting water in the housing, your clutches could be corroded as well. There should be no water getting in that shroud.
