You'll need an allen or hexkey wrench of the apropriate sixe to remove the handle from the faucet. There should be a rubber plug with the traditional red and blue colors for hot and cold. Carefully pry the plug out. There should be a hex nut in behind the plug.Remove the hex nut and the handle should come off by pulling straight upward. After that the dome shaped nut that sits below the handle should turn off counter clockwise. Beneath this is where the seals, springs, and washers are located. Good luck

Most of the time you remove the cap covering the bolt and 90% of the time a allen wrench or hex bolt you need to tighten. If tightening it does not stop the leak you will need to replace the gasket.

How to fix leaky American Standard single faucet kitchen sink

The A-S single lever kitch faucet is terrible. If it is the one I think it is, then it has three screws that mount the cartridge down into the faucet body.If these are not torqued perfectly evenly, the faucet leaks. I suggest getting a Moen to replace it.

I have an american standard kitchen faucet, when the handle is half open I get a leak, at home depot where I bought it two years ago, they told me I need to take it apart to see which kit will repair...

The single handled faucets have a valve cartridge which needs to be replaced when it leaks. Disassemble the handle to find the valve inside. Take the valve to the hardware store to be sure you get the right one and reassemble. To disassemble, pop the cap off the lever, unscrew the single screw, then use slip-joint pliers to loosen the retainer nut. lift the cartridge out with pliers taking note of the direction of the notch at the top of the stem. Be sure to reassemble with the notch facing in the same direction. You should replace and lubricate the O-rings when you change the valve cartridge.
Since you have the numbers for that particular faucet, you might want to call around to find the cartridge first. Different models have different valves, so be sure yours is correct.

I have an american standard bathroom faucet. Single handle. It is leaking where the faucet meets the sink. I do not see any screws to take off the handle. How do I fix it?

First, turn off the water supply under the sink. Next, put the faucet lever in the up position, no water should be coming out. While in the up position turn slowly while looking at the underside of the handle and you should be able to find a set screw. It will probable be an "allen head" type and you will need and allen head wrench to loosen it. An allen head looks like a hex shape, 6 sided I believe and is rod shaped. If you don't have one they come in sets at your local hardeware.

How to replace sprout seal kit?

After you remove the handle, the chrome cap should either snap or spin off.It also may come out with the cartridge... There are 3 screws that hold the cartidge in the faucet...take them out and you should be able carefully work the faucet are off of the core of the faucet. Put a little cooking oil on the o-rings after you install the new ones... just to allow the faucet arm to slide on without damage... Hope this gets you dripless!! Let me know if you have a question. Handle stuck; How descale w/o ruining chrome finish

WD-40 will not harm the chrome but it you have liquid wrench, it would be better lubricant as WD 40 chemicals are actually a cleaner.

A descaler you need to be careful here. Lime-away or CLR is a popular choice but you need to read the label on chome products.
