Chances are:
  1. You have not enabled cookies in your browser. Cookies are like your ID card. If you dont give the site your ID card,it would not allow you to next page. See this link on how to enable cookies in your browser
  2. The site might have broken pages, which would not know what to do next. Your browser would ask for the next page, but it would not be present in server.
As with Facebook, the problem no.2 would not be possible. So better clear your history and cookies.
Cheers!!

Cannot accept friend requests, chat, post comments, accept messages

Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now
If that does not fix it, then try:
Remove the Cookies" from sites that cause problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
You can start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
See Troubleshooting extensions and themes and Troubleshooting plugins
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window.
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via File > Exit (on Mac: Firefox > Quit)
