Tablet says, Entering DNX Mode: waiting for Fastboot command...

I would book mark these links. Below.

What is Fastboot for?

While in fastboot, you can modify the file system images from a computer over a USB connection. Fastboot mode can start on your device even before Android loads, even under the circumstance when Android isn't installed at all. And because of that, fastboot mode is useful for quick-updating the firmware, without having to use a recovery mode. In fact, it's the preferred way to initially install the recovery image. Once you set up, you boot to your phone to fastboot and you can flash image files to the internal memory. Flashing a custom recovery like ClockworkMod is a popular use case. The images you flash don't need to be signed with a particular key, and thus you should use care when flashing. It can also be used for developer operations. Things like erasing partitions and overriding kernel command line options can be done. And all this features make the tool very useful for developing hardware and software solutions, like unlocking the Bootloader of Google' Nexus.

Is this after serveral power-off and power-on attempts?

If so, you may need to reset it to factory defaults by entering "recovery mode".

Nexus 7 wont turn on

You can try to do a hard reset by holding down the power button and the volume down button for 20-30 seconds. IF the device still will not turn on make sure it has enough battery or is plugged in.

If you still have problems you can try the following to do a factory reset:

  1. If your tablet is on, power it off.
  2. Press and hold Power until the device powers on, then immediately press and hold Volume Down (while still pressing Power). You will see the word Start with an arrow drawn around it.
  3. Press Volume Down twice to designate Recovery mode.
  4. Press Power to restart into Recovery mode. You will see an image of an Android robot with a red exclamation mark.
  5. While holding down Power, press Volume Up.
  6. Use the volume keys to scroll to "wipe data/factory reset" and press Power to select it.
  7. Scroll down to "Yes - erase all user data" and press Power to select it.

Nexus 7 tablet mic doesn't work in portrait mode

The microphone for the nexus 7 is a small hole on the right hand side of the tablet, just below the volume button. Make sure your hand and any cases you're using aren't covering this when you're trying to do a voice search.

Nexus 7 16gb tablet won't power on

I would do a hard reboot. To do this you should hold down the vol up, vol down, and power buttons. This should bring you into recovery mode. Others seem to be having similar issues. Warranty?
