Allen wrenches, AKA hex keys, can be obtained singly or in sets in just about any hardware store or general merchandise store with tools. I prefer the sets that come in sort of a big jacknife folding set, like this: http://www.mickysharpzusa.com/images/parts/large/402.jpg as all the wrenches get lost together, instead of one at a time like this style tends to: http://i.ebayimg.com/t/30PC-Combo-Hex-Key-Allen-Wrench-Set-SAE-MM-LONG-SHORT-ARM-NEW-/00/s/NDg4WDY1MA==/$T2eC16ZHJGQE9noMbZN2BQ-lv1U+3g~~60_3.JPG I do not know if you'll need wrenches with metric measurements (mm) or English/Inch/SAE, which will be sized in fractions of an inch, like 3/32. Call Singer and ask the size you need: http://singerco.com I will guess metric, but I won't swear to it.

Along with Liquid Wrench (I usually use Tri-Flow Synthetic Oil), apply hot air from a handheld hairdryer. Repeat over and over. Unless it is rusted, it should eventually loosen. (Do NOT spray the belt.

I need to replace the motherboard in my bernina actova 220. Can I buy one online?

You will need to get this board from an authorised Bernina dealer or get one from eBay if you can find one.

However, if you can't work out how to open the casing, you'd probably be wise to leave well alone and pay a technician to sort it all out.

I am looking for where I can buy the Allen wrench for my simplicity SW432 serger. Please advise me where I can buy it. Thank you.

You can purchase complete sets of Allen wrenches in either SAE (U.S.) or Metric sizes at most hardware stores, home improvement stores, Radio Shack stores, etc. for relatively short money. If you can bring the screw with you or find out what size it is from inside your manual - you might be able to purchase only the particular wrench you need. If you can't find the size of the screw documented in your manual, you'll have to check both SAE and Metric sizes for the best fitting wrench .

Sewing machines often use very small fasteners and are precision devices through and through. Simply using a wrench that "fits" as opposed to the one that is the "correct size" will affect how many times you'll be able to loosen and tighten that screw. Using a wrench that "fits" will eventually wear out the screw head making it impossible to turn in or out, much quicker than using the correct size Allen wrench.

I hope this helps and good luck. Please rate my reply. Thank you.

I have a Babylock Denim Pro II and the entire mechanism that holds the needle just fell off the machine!! What the heck do I do?

Hey there,

This just happened to me last night, too! I figured out that it tightens back onto the shaft with an allen wrench. I found a tiny allen wrench in my tool box and it did the trick. Hope this helps!

Similar problem

That would be the thread guide. You need a small allen wrench to put this whole thing back on. There is a hole in the right side, looks like a hole, it's blackish, but is for allen wrench. The curved metal piece slides up into a tiny hole from the bottom near where needle enters then slide whole thing back on machine and tighten with allen wrench.

The needles are changed by inserted the hex wrench into what looks to be holes on the front and left side where the needles go into the machine.I'm not sure what size the hex wrench is but it's pretty small. From the manual,
"Removing Needle: Unplug the machine. Turn the handwheel counterclockwise to raise the needle bar to its highest position. Loosen the needle clamp with the allen wrench and pull the needle out." and
"Inserting needle: When the neddle bar is at the highest position, insert a new needle in the needle holder, making sure that the groove of the needle faces you. Push the needle as far up as it will go and tighten the needle clamp screw." "Removing Needle: Unplug the machine. Turn the handwheel counterclockwise to raise the needle bar to its highest position. Loosen the needle clamp with the allen wrench and pull the needle out."

The machine takes DB x 1, or 1738 needles, and a size 14 needle is recommended.

Hope this helps!
