The most likely causes for this is:
External Speakers not turned on.
Turn them on...
Driver for the sound device isn't installed:
If you see the little speaker icon down the bottom right hand corner of your screen (near the clock), your sound card device driver is working well.
If it is not visable, the sound card device driver may or may not be working.
Go into the start button, select settings (if available), then control panel, Sounds and Audio Devices.
Select the Audio tab
Ensure that you have a 'default device' set.
If you get any errors when going into the sound and audio devices tab stating that you have no audio devices installed, then its most likely a driver issue.
In this case, refer to your local computer shop to have the audio drivers installed.
Driver for the keyboard sound function not installed or not running.
Solution:
Reboot then test it.
Reinstall the driver, test it.
