You need to know if it is a walbro or a zama carb. to start with.
then look closely at the carb. and find #`s
very small

walbro will be wt or wa then some #`s
zama will be c1q or c1u and some #`s on the opposite side of carb.
Walbro will be on the same side

you need to know the carb. #`s so a kit can be found for that particular carb. IE: complete kit or diaphram kit

NEED TO REPLACE SPARK ARRESTER ON HOMELITE LITE 26CC STRING TRIMMER

Remove the Torx screws holding the rear cover on. Then remove the larger Torx screws holding the muffler on to the exhaust port of the cylinder. There will be a gasket there. The spark arrestor will be mounted in the opening to the muffler. You can scrape or burn the carbon off of it. If the spark arrestor is real clogged up, then the muffler probably is too. It should also be cleaned. The inside of the engine probably is carboned up too( if arrestor and muffler are). They all should be cleaned of carbon. It helps the engine perform at its' best and breathe like it needs to.

Redmax blower older model does not start, tried a few drops of gas in spark plug port and it started. but stalls after fuel in burned off, any help would be appreciated, djk913

Carb. problems sounds mostly like the carb needs to be thoroughly cleaned out, drop fuel bowl and hit openings with a tiny steel wire and carb cleaner also check the diaphram, sounds like its cracked/dried up.

On homelite string trimmer prime bulb does not pop back up

this is an indication that there a gas blockage in either the fuel lines or the carborator. try taking fuel lines off of gas tank, which might require you to take off any protective coverings(just remember how they came off to put them back on the same way) .blow on each line separatly while holding throttle open on carborator. hopefully you'll feel the blockage being freed up. in any case put the lines back on and see if that does the trick. good luck!

Homelite ht-17 magneto

Go to Gardnerinc.com and click on consumer. Then click on partsmartweb. On the left side of this page change your selection from Kohler to Homelite Consumer Products and enter your model number. You have it as HT 17. This brings up a lot of different equipment so I would enter just part of the serial number or the ut number. This is located on the body of the trimmer on a silver tag.
This will take you to the parts illustration and parts list for your trimmer.

I need the complete gear box at the end of the shaft where can i find this

Homelite parts are hard to come by these days. Some parts have been discontinued. You might go online and find a homelite parts dealer in your area (or any area that is willing to ship parts to you).
They will need the UT number on the trimmer as well as the name on the side.

St185 Homelite string trimmer starts then dies

I resolved my problem by taking apart the carborator and cleaning it. There were clogged passaged that had stuff come out of them when I used airisol carb cleaner to blow them out. I only had to make one gasket the carb mount gasket which is pretty basic only 5 holes.
It ran for the next 3 hours, ran fantastic!!!!!!

I have a Homelite trimmer fitted with a Zama carburettor. The priming action is not operating. i have cleaned the fuel lines. I have replaced the primer. All the diaphrams seem ok.. Where is the blockage...

Sometimes even if the diaphram and gaskets look ok they may not be. If the diaphram is stretched or distorted even a little they wont work properly, same for gaskets and other parts of the carb. sometimes the littlest things can make a big difference. I would try a complete rebuild kit and while everything is out of the carb. spray the carb real good and then lite-ly blow out the carb. with an air hose also if you take a twist tie from bread and take off half of the paper from the wire and carefully probe all holes in carb. that might do the trick for ya. After you put the high and low adjustment needles back in (if your zama carb. is set up with them) you'll want to set the low needle (after turning all the way in till it just bottoms) at 1 and 1/4 turns out and the high at just about 1and 1/2 turns out, then while running make final adjustments.
