SOURCE: The WowWee (RSD2) Robosapien V2

Open the Robot, and check the cables, this Robosapiens V2 has a well known problem with the wire harness that go from main board to the bateries trough the legs. They have a major problem in the wire insulations that crumbles and short the wires. No easy solution exist. Yo need to rewire by your own or accept that will never work again.

SOURCE: Just bought a used WowWee Robosapien Humoid Toy

Hi, first be aware that there are three models of Robosapiens, the V1 (13" tall), V2(23" tall), and RS Media (23" tall with video screen on chest). The WowWee website has the manuals for the Robosapiens and they can also be found at several independent forums). Here's the link to the Robo V1 support page where the manual can be downloaded from: You'll see a drop down menu "SUPPORT BY PRODUCT" to get to the other manuals. You can also fins a lot of help at forums, I'd recommend starting at

Sadly you can not buy the remote alone. You can however buy another whole robot with the remote for cheap on ebay:

I know that it sounds a bit basic, but have you checked the batteries in the raptor itself and made sure the ON/OFF button is in the ON position?

My WowWee Roboquad is not responding to remote. The remote is functionally. My Roboquad is just moving the legs, not walking, and is searching with the head. What should I do? Thanks! Oana

Try using the Roboquad in another room away from any possible interference signals from computers, laptops, neighbours WIFI, etc. And out of strong sunlight to avoid Infra-Red saturation. Ensure batteries of robot were installed with power switch in OFF position. Try the DEMO button to see if it dances OK. Try pressing STOP button TWICE within 6 seconds to do a reset, see if that helps. Good Luck

Missing battery cover. Where can I find new parts?

Unfortunately, there is not much market thus motivation to industry for "replacement toy parts" :(
The trouble with a "dispossable society" is that for the benefit of cheap volume production, 99.9% of plastics are mold cast assembly line manufacturing, means "one time" production and for all intent and purpoase, not repairable nor part replaceable.
It may be possible to find the same toy with a different problem (broken in some way or other) that "has" it's battery cover, maybe at a yard sale or a flea market, even a second hand store and therefore locate one. Other than that, unless the manufacturers felt the longivity of their product worthy of replacement parts and provide an 800 number to contact them, chances are you won't find one.
Wish I had a better suggestion :) But, you can try locating another one through the mentioned places.
