Getting a message saying trying to boot from the network drive

Hello I have a Thinkcentre desktop here and when I try to turn it on a message says trying to boot from the network and it asks for a password and it should be doing none of these things

Go into setup as it boots up and make sure there is a hard drive recognized by the BIOS. It sounds as if there isn't. If there is, make sure the hard drive is the first boot device.

let the user login the computer.
goto cmd via run.
enter " net user"
the whole list will come out containing the administrator and guest.
then type " net user guestname or adminname"
then type " net user guestname or adminname * "
it will then ask you for new password type it and in this way it will work.

I assuming you are using a Windows operating system. There is no way to override a password if you have forgotten it. There are utilities that will allow you to reset the Administrator password to a blank password. Try the this popular utility:

Unfortunately you will need a computer to download this utility and create a boot CD but since you were able to post this I assume you do have access to a second computer.

Have Thinkcentre which boots in Win 7 and 2 Win XP


Try to re-install 2 Operating systems use this order,
1,Install windows XP by booting the XP cd,
2,and then install Win 7 by booting from Win 7 cd.
Then while you restart computer there will be a prompt menu asking to select OS to start. Thanks

Sounds like it's probably the power supply. The computer takes more power to boot up than to run, so if it can't get enough wattage it can't boot all the way up, and it will shut down and try again.

If you're comfortable opening your computer up, you can test the power supply connectors with a voltmeter or multimeter to verify. A new power supply is typically only $30 or $40.

Without a laptop model number, we can only give you general advice.

Does the laptop beep when you turn it on? If it does, the number of beeps will indicate what is wrong.

If it does not beep, there may be a power issue - try removing the battery and use the AC Adapter only. Also, try swapping out the power adapter if you can.

Pc won't finish booting, can't read disks


without knowing the model I am going to refer you to the IBM website to find your specific model and the info needed to change the boot order and try booting from CD or try thr recovery feature I thnk it's F11?

TO CHANGE THE BOOT SEQUENCE FROM HARD DISK TO CD


before you see the logo screen when you boot up, you should see press f1, or delete to go to system settings etc, thats where you change the boot sequence
