Looks like this phone has a manufacturing flaw, lots of complaints with the same problem including myself.

I am absolutely ready to leave Verizon. I have 3 LG phones. One was replaced on 11/14 because it wouldn't stay charged. Just this week, when my daughter pulled the charger out of the phone, the inside of the port came out. Verizon technical service said that the warranty would probably not cover it because most likely WE did something wrong!!!!! I have had cell phones for many, many years, and never have I had a problem with the charger.

My other two LG phones either don't hold their charge, shut off randomly, or the connection won't stay when the charger is in. There has to be something that can be done about these problems. Verizon said they have lots of employees that have this phone and no one has had this problem. I don't believe it.

I have the same problem. The verizon retail store told me it was from me not being careful. At least they replaced yours. they told me to file an insurance claim pay 50 and get a reconditioned phone. Thanks.

I am on my 4th enV and my problems have been the phone dropping calls, turning completely off during a call and last but surely not least, the charger port comes out of it.  I went to Verizon today for the 3rd time (4th phone) with the REFURBISHED phone they sent me 3 weeks ago!  The charger port came out of it!  They told me I had done something to it.  PLEASE!  I plug it in and unplug it once a day.  Where's the harm in that?  I am so PO'd that I could scream and Verizon doesn't care.  Just as long as they get my $150 every month!

I have 4 envy's in my house. We all have problems with the charger port. The chargers just don't want to stay in contact, and it goes in and out of charging. Just yesterday, one of the phone had the charging port come out with the charger. My daughter took it to Verizon, and like the others, Verizon called it physical damage and offered to sell her a Refurb (they call them "frufees") for $50. They told her to come back in an hour. It that hour I called the store, and they gave me the same line they gave her. I called the 800 number, and they told me it was up to the store, but tried to convince me that $50 was a good deal, as that is what it would have cost me if I had insurance, and I have not had to pay any premium. Also in that hour I found this and other sites with dozens of people suffering from the same problem. I printed out copies, and went back with my daughter prepared to do battle. For some reason, though, when he printed out the receipt, it came out as No Charge. I certainly lucked out. Had I not had such good fortune, I would have sent a letter to both Verizon, and LG, with copies of all the blogs I could find. Unlike some of the previous writers, I have usually had pretty good luck with Verizon's customer service. That's why I tried calling there. Keep trying, and send letters. My guess is that both Verizon and LG know they have a problem with the enV. One of them will make good on it. And if there are enough of us, some savy lawyer will launch a class action suit on our behalf.

I JUST returned home from the Verizon Store where they have ordered my THIRD, yes, THIRD, EnV phone in less than 1 year...same exact problem, where the charging port is loose, and within one day, neither my car nor home charger will do anything at all for phone. The VZ associate told me to "be careful w\ port"...I almost felt like smacking, thanks! I keep it in its case when it is not in use, and I really am not into holding it like a baby bird in my hands while driving because it shouldnt...jostle around while the car is's not an infant, IT'S A CELL PHONE!!! Sorry, I've had a "wonderful" last couple days...felt good to vent...I'm kind of glad I'm not the only one experiencing this craptastic problem...the warranty provides a brand new phone for free, which is fantastic, and I'm grateful for the "flaw" cause it's my 2nd FREE phone! It will be "PERFECT" if the company can figure a way to a.) transfer the "get it now" tools I've already subscribed to, now LOST and have to re-pay for, and b.) THE PHOTOS!!!! I will just have to keep up w/ sending each & every photo immediately to "Picture Place"...HAPPY HOLIDAYS.....

Before you conclude that its the charging port i think you need to test another compartible charger and see if it works or you could open your phone with a phone screwdriver and dust the charging port and try it if it works. If it doesn't work then you would need to replace the charging port.Temporarily you can use a desktop charger to charge your batterywhile the port is being replace.

My charge port is messed up and wont let me charge

You could locate another specifically for charging the battery in this one, but the best bet is to see your carrier about insurance (physical damage) if you have it or warranty replacement (no physical/liquid damage). Sometimes the manufacturer can offer warranty repair services as well.

Plz help

if the charging port in the handset is broke then do as i say below

if you are good at opening the handset then open it and just have a check whether the charging port is directly attached to the circuit board or it is separate from it ....

if it is separate from the circuit board then you need to buy a new charging port which is compatible to your handset & you can replace it easily will get the spare parts in the shops ...

if the charging port is attached to the board then you need to contact the technician ..
he will replace the port or he will make an alternate arrangement(if the spare part of the port is not available)....

you can only replace the port if you are good technically ...
what you must do is first you must remove the solder from the board of the port then remove then replace the new one then solder it correctly at the points where the solder is needed with the board ...

to do this you must be highly aware of the servicing ... if you are not or if you are less aware then dont try this any single mistake may spoil the board ...
so then it is better to contact the technician ....

any way it is not so much costly it is just a matter of some bucks so you can just contact the technician if you have no idea about opening the handset & servicing it.....

any doubts you can reply me
i am always here to assist you
thank you

Charger port

Go to They sell a battery charger that doesn't require the battery to be attached to the phone. This will work for the LG EnV phone. $17.00 + $3.95 shipping. Case closed.

Env help plz

The reason the phone won't charge is because the internal power port pins are broken off of their solder joints to the main board inside the phone. Wiggling it helps at first because the pins can still touch their connection points but after a short time that will cease to help. Google "cell phone repair". It usually cost around $50 to get it fixed with a new power port installed. Turn-around is usually 2-3 days.
