Question about Televison & Video

Open Question

Where can I get a power cord for the Kodascope 8 Model 70 8mm projector?

I have the projector but not the power cord. I'm wondering if there's a particular kind of modern power cord that may be adapted for it. The projector has two circular prongs to receive one end of the cord.

This was my first time using this site, and my question was listed under Standard Televisions, although it properly belongs under audio-video or electronics.

SOURCE: Rainbow Vacuum Model D3B

If it won't work without a ground wire, but still works with one, then you must have a ground/earth connection to make it work - it sounds like there is a safety device that needs an earth to release, you could almost certainly bypass this relatively easily, but it will be there for a good reason and that would be dangerous. Bearing this in mind, regardless of which 2/3 prong adaptors you use, without an earth connection it will not function without risk probably of electric shock from the case or damage to the vacuum, else the safety device would not be there. Get an electrician to your home, and make him install grounded sockets where necessary (should be all, but at least get a couple). Ungrounded/unearthed domestic power sockets at all domestic AC voltages are lethal eventually, to man or machines. A lot of devices don't need an earth, but especially something with a big motor or a metal case usually does. At least ask a local electrician what he thinks. If you want to do it yourself, an Earth circuit in your home is not too hard to achieve if you have basic wiring skills (and access to the ground floor), but most insurance would dislike the idea - if you want to - post again and I may talk you through it. Hope this helps :) Please be careful :(

Please review the following link:

Do you have your power cord wired correctly? Please read through the link thoroughly and confirm the wire color coding and the placement of where you have the wires terminated. I hope this helps you. Let me know if you have further questions.

No power on light

That's interesting.. After researching that model I can tell you that it has an intergrated internal power supply(transformer) which does contain a fuse. It is located where your power cord plugs into, inside the unit, start with that. Was it plugged into a surge protector? When you had the power failure the second time was there a fluctuation of power, ie your lights in your house flickering on or off or increasing, decreasing in brightness? This will help me determine if it's something else. Also be sure to check your power cord, look for any kinks, breaks, chips in insulation. Anyway Good Luck

The plugs on this model projector is very delicate, over time the solder around the plug will begin to crack. Until eventually the connection is lost. Another possibility is that the power supply has gone bad. Using another cord would not cause this. I can fix the projector if you'd like. My ebay screenname is gtitubro.

Hi

If you accidentally lock the projector, you need to disconnect the AC power cord. Then HOLD the SELECT button at the same time as reconnecting the AC power cord again.

This should reset the lock out.

Check your cooling solution wether its a fan malfunction or if it needs a new fan - or h20 cooling system

if not its either the power supply or something serious - send it to manifacture or go to a in-store repair

(it could be the dust protector)
