Question about Microwave Ovens

My Therabath stopping heating up

It's plugged in, as always, but the unit is no longer heating up. Does it have a fuse of some sort. Can it be fixed?

Unplug it fully then recheck....Could also be a thermal fuse has gone creating a duel problem with the turntable and Magnatron Heating device ,a cheap fix providing its just a fuse but not advisable to do self repair due to High Voltages within the unit...good luck

My microwave just stopped working. No problems until now. In the middle of cooking it just stopped. No display, no beeps, no bouttons working, no light inside. There is power to the outlet I can plug in...

for the microwave to stop suddenly it has blown its internal fuse this is located under the top panel of the unit it should be white with two silver tips ( ceramic fuse) in some cases the fuse will blow for no good reason on the other hand it can be a serious fault the fastest way to check this is to replace the fuse and re test the unit if the fuse blows instantly then bin the microwave if not it the fuse may have simply failed

best of luck always remember unplug the unit first and always replace with same size and and current fuse

please rank this advice if it helped you

Microwave blowing house fuse, but not right away. Sometimes not, sometimes within 15 seconds, sometimes longer. Any idea what the problem and how to fix? Thanks

PLEASE DO NOT USE OR TOUCH when plugged in. Remove Fuse & UNPLUG IT. The ONLY reason a Fuse "Blows" is due to an Active, to Earth fault. This "Could" place the "Mains" voltage on the "Case" of the Unit, if touched while plugged in it could KILL YOU. Please call a registered professional, to attend to this. It may be in the Unit?, it may be in the wiring?

Oven has been working fine. Heating a cup of coffee it just stopped dead. No display. Nothing. Power to outlet working fine. Is there a reset somewhere?

Mine did this when my wife had it on full power for over 10 minutes. We left it set for 15 or so minutes and it came back on. It did the same thing when my niece was heating a liquid with some metal in it. It eventually came back on. There must be a thermal circuit breaker inside the unit. Yours may have a fuse or some sort of circuit breaker inside it, that needs replacing or resetting. Then again some units have a fuse that goes out when the Magnetron shorts out, or goes bad. This would require replacing the Magnetron as well as the fuse.

I have a GE microwave, model JVM 3670 BF03. It is an above the range unit. The unit still has power, the clock, turnstyle and fan work fine, but it no longer heats food.

HI. in most cases, this will lead to a failed Heating device(magnetron tube). It would be wise to check the Magnetron cutoff fuse to be sure of its integrity. if the fuse is blown, simply replace it. if the fuse continues to show continuity, replace the magnetron.

(((The fuse is located inside the unit along side the magnetron)))

I have power to the plug, but nothing to the unit when it is plug

First unplug the unit.
This can be caused by one of two possible conditions.
You may have blown a fuse inside the unit or the thermistor may have blown. You can check them with a simple ohm meter. You will have to take the covers off to access the parts. The thermistor is located at the air outlet. This thermal resistor (thermistor) is designed to open if heated too hot and shut power to prevent fires. You can see a diagrams at;

http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=260464

It's usually the thermistor.
The parts can be purchase at electronics stores like Radio Shack.

Danby 1000 Watt Microwave is completely dead. Just stopped working right after heating up a dinner.

you may have just blown a fuse inside the microwave or the transformer inside has now failed and will need replacing but it will need to be looked at to see what exactly happened
