It doesn't matter to the camera what operating system you have on your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Windows Photo Gallery or Picasa.

I have lost my pictures in the camera. Where can I find them?

They might be stored in the inner memory.

1. Take the SD card out of the cam.
2. Turn the cam on
3. Press on the review button.

You can transferre them directly onto the sd card or transferre them over to the computer via the USB cable.

Pls. rate me if helpful. TXS

You need to format the SD card before it will be used by the camera. Formatting instructions are in the manual.

Memory Card

SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

Kodak z8612 does not want to format an sd card

If you have a card reader that connects to your PC, or a built in one like many PCs have, try connecting it too your computer. Go to Start, My Computer and then locate the memory card icon. Right click on it and select "Format". Click "Start" to format the card. When it's done try it in your camera.

Uploading pictures on PC

This one is easy. Buy a memory card reader and do not use the camera usb cord. A card reader will always be the easiest way to transfer photos from memory stick to PC.
