Question about Sony KV-36XBR250 TV
I Here de sound ,bat not video
Check whether the filament of CRT glow or not. If not, check all the solder terminals at the CRT base card. If it glows, check all the voltages at the video output card, said above. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Pull up older posts.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: blinking picture
TV Repairman came out today to look at my Sony KV-36XBR250 today with the exact same problem - he was able to adjust the settings through the service menu, but said it was a temporary fix only.
The picture tube is going and the Sony circuitry has a "video mute" that it uses when it senses the tube is not warmed up enough. The degraded state of the tube causes the blinking on and off as the signal from the tube wavers.
He ballpark estimated the tube replacement cost well above the price for replacing the set with a 37" LCD, so it's going to the dump...

sounds like you have some cold solder or bad joints, power section, inspect it ,with the back off, but be carefull.........i had one that did that...bad connection in solder joint...had to resolder,if you have to resolder, make sure it is unpluged.hope this helped....

Most likely on a trinitron tube if it is dark is the high voltage capacitor has blown. This is the device that feed the 30,000 or so volts to charge the tube, it attaches at the back with a clip and ****** and a single cable coming from it.
You can check easily if it is definately that as you will notice if you power the tv on and off once or twice if you get that static charge feel from the screen, if there is none there then almost certainly that is the problem.

A solution I found for our KV-32XBR200 was to press Setup on top of the set, then select the "Demo" item with TV/Video. The text overlay apparently banished PIP. Verified this twice, as I'm at this page because our remote can only turn PIP on :-).
