Question about HP Pavilion dv6000t Notebook
My hp dv6000 screen won't turn on laptop lights turn on
I have the same case with my laptop. I heard that if you run it with the battery out it could fix it! Try it I have not yet!

The first thing you need to rule out is if the screen is shot or not. Try plugging an external monitor in to see if you see anything. Can you hear hard drive running? Can you get to any screen, like Bios? (usually F2 or F8 at start up?)
Sometimes these screen go bad- hope thats not the case.

Recently i encountered problem with hp dv6000 laptop to be cleaned up from viruses. after successfully doing said task i reboot the unit and it was okay! i kept the unit for several days until the client get. several hours later the client bring back the unit complaining that the unit won't boot-up! to my surprise i checked the unit and truly it won't... indicators suggest a big problem ahead: all lights was on, no display on lcd and external. no beep sound or what so ever. i checked the hp site for possible hint to found that said model was included on the models that are noted with hardware / bios drawbacks that's why hp extends its warranty for another 1 year after the first yr warranty. disparately i tried some possible solution but no to avail. then suddenly i thought of REMOVING THE CMOS BATTERY in order to reset the cmos settings, after 10 minutes or so that i disconnected the battery i placed it back. Boot-up the system then i heard a BEEP! my client was happy ever after! ^_^

If you have Vista, load cd and reboot. When it asks you to, hit anykey to boot from cd. When windows loads it will give you some options. Try fixing the startup. This will try to repair a damaged boot sector. If this doesn't do it or it is having trouble, try booting with the cd again and this time pick restore computer to an earlier time and pick a day or two ago. Let windows restore back a few days and reboot, make sure you take the disc out at the last reboot, or just don't hit any key when it asks you to....see if windows will boot up on its own.
