I am having a problem with the bobbin on my 385 15343600

Are you trying to use the metal or plastic bobbins? I have found that with my machine like yours it does not like the plastic bobbins. The #15 is right but they need to be metal. good luck

I have a singer machine 1408/1409 but cannot use the plastin bobbins. I only have two of the aluminum bobbins that seem to work but I need more.

There actually are not that many types of bobbins and just judging from the looks of your machine, my guess is a Class 66, but it may also be a Class 15. I checked your user's manual, and it doesn't say, but Class 66 only has two holes and Class 15 has holes going all the way around, and what is pictured in all of the drawings only has two holes. The user's manual REALLY should have given you that info, but it doesn't that I can see.

You need a bobbin like this:

You can puchase them from this link
http://www.sewingpartsonline.com/bobbins-janome-kenmore-elna-102261103.aspx

Janome have one standard plastic bobbin that fits almost all their models except
1600P, 1600P-DB, 1600P-DBX and MB4.
So if you see packets of plastic "Janome" bobbins for sale they will be the right ones.

What bobbins fit the singer featherweight 117

The Featherweight II 117 uses the Class 15 bobbin. A 4-pack of the Dritz equivalent of the bobbin is available from Amazon here: http://www.amazon.com/Dritz-Plastic-Class-15-Bobbins/dp/B000Y3D1NG . Singer has a 10-pack of the bobbins here: http://www.singerco.com/accessories/detail/2075/class-15-bobbins-10-pack . You can buy a manual from Singer, as well. (See their Instruction Manual page from the Customer Support Link then enter 117 in the Search box.)

I hope this helps.

I just bought a white sew ez and am unable to wind the bobbin following the instruction manual. The instructions say to pull the thread down through the clamper (what's a clamper; it's not shown in the...

If you look on the top of the machine, there should be a little round metal disk near the far left side. That's the clamper it's talking about, also known as the bobbin winder tension. As for the hole in the bobbin, you can use any of the holes. I'm assuming you're using a metal class 15 bobbin, the plastic class 15 bobbins only have 1 small hole on each end. Both will work with your machine.

Singer Model 2638. What class bobbin do I use? Bobbin package says: consult manual, but it's not in there. Are they interchangeable as long as they fit?

Hi! Your machine uses Class15J bobbins (http://www.singerco.com/accessories/notions.html)
No, bobbins aren't really interchangeable, even if they fit. For example, I have a Kenmore 385 Elite and a Brother SX-8060. One (the Kenmore) uses bobbins with a curved top and bottom. The Brother uses bobbins that are flat on top and bottom. Either bobbin fits in either machine. But if I use a curved top and bottom in the Brother, it clicks and clacks and has a greater tendency to jam than the flat bobbins. Likewise, the Kenmore is just happier with its curved bobbins.
Hope this helps!

Thread is not coming up from the bobbin assembly on sewing machine. Stitches don't show any thread coming from the bottom.

YOUR PROBLEM IS THE TIMMING IN YOUR MACHINE. THIS HAPPENDS WHEN YOU FORCE YOUR MACHINE TO SEW SOMETHING OR WHEN YOUR NEEDLE BRAKES. nOT SURE HOW TO FIX IT. I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. USUALLY A TUNE-UP WOULD DO IT. IT'S ABOUT $99 TO $130.00 TO DO A TUNE UP. i WISH I KNEW HOW TO FIX IT MYSELF.
