LCD on my Yamaha dgx 640 is too dull even when I adjust with button at back.

The brightness of the LCD display seems to have dimmed making it impossible for me to read the screen.

I have the same Problem since yesterday my granddoughter hit the keyboard too heavy. I have opened it (many screws...) but could not find any obvious reason. Nothing like a loose connector.

SOURCE: A bought an Yamaha DGX

The function setting is for the PANEL sustain (Page 68 of your manual)

The other method of sustain is by footswitch or pedal option. See page 13.

If you use a footswitch, it needs to be a normally open contact type. If you plug a Roland type in, it is opposite polarity and will sustain UNLESS the pedal is pressed. Make sure nothing else is plugged in the sustain jack... headphones that are inadvertently plugged in there would sustain.

SOURCE: Which midi cable or USB midi cable should I use for Yamaha DGX 520 model.

It doesn't use a USB to MIDI adapter (such as the UX-16.) It has an onboard MIDI controller and uses a standard USB A-B cable. You just need to install the driver from the CD-ROM or here, and plug it in. You can get the manual from the same page or here. Setup is on page 99.

Where can I get a manual for portable grand D6X640 Yamaha piano

Do you mean the DGX-640? To my knowledge, Yamaha doesn't have a D6X line of keyboards. Most of Yamaha's manuals are available from their support page: http://download.yamaha.com/top/?site=usa.yamaha.com&language=en . The DGX-640 support page is http://download.yamaha.com/search/product/?language=en&site=usa.yamaha.com&category_id=16084&product_id=1056822 . Scroll down to find the owner's manual in various languages and other documents. Yamaha provides javascript links to the manuals on the site; these do not resolve to specific direct links in my browser history.

I hope this helps.

Screen is blanck can not see any of the database

If you haven't already, try to adjust the LCD Contrast by rotating the knob on the rear of the keyboard. If that doesn't help and if every thing else functions the Contrast pot is damaged or the LCD needs to be replaced. Those would be the most likely causes.

Blue LCD screen

I had the exact problem, mine was a YPG 535 brand new in box I put everything together with stand and FC4 pedal. When i got ready to play just a blue screen and none of the red lights came on and no sound, I notice when i was messing with the on and standby button hopeing it would work the speakers would make a popping noise I personly thought it was a manufacturing defect.....i'm sending it back to have it replace. I never had problems with yamaha products but seems like more and more defects are happing with newer portable grand series!

HI, Let me answer the question.

1) Select the DUAL VOICE (not portable grand ) button and hold for longer than 1 second.

The choose voices required.

If you press the Portable Grand button this resets the keyboard top a piano.

I hope this helps

Here you go:

http://usa.yamaha.com/products/musical-instruments/keyboards/digitalpianos/dgx_series/dgx-640_color_variation/

There is a an "output phones" to put the headphones into on page 17 of the manual here.
