Question about Jenn-Air Cooktops
I have to replace a fan switch on the Jenn Aire D156 electric range. The part is no longer made so I canabalized a range I found on craigslist. Sadly, an appliance repair guy took my old parts to "come up with a repair" and I can not get him to return my calls, so I can't get the parts back. I'm uncertain how to reconnect the pins and my owner manuals have nothing about reconnecting the parts. I can provide pics if needed. This is the "rocker" fan switch assembly that sits on the front middle of the cooktop. My grand-daughter put a full pot of pasta water on top of the original switch and it fell thru. I could still use the cooktop, but after broiling a steak one evening, the fan clicked on automatically and wouldn't go off. I've had to cut off the stove with the circuit breaker so the fan didn't run continuously. Seemed stupid to replace a stove because of a broken fan switch, but I even considered it, until I found that the downdraft fan ducting, evidently according to customer review comments, is not the same on the newer Jenn Aire's as it is on the older Jenn Aire's, so that would not be a good fix either! Any help would be appreciated!
