Hello There

There could be many reasons but here are a couple of easy way to fix this.

First:

Reset Internet Explorer to its Defaults You can reset IE to its defaults by doing this: go to windows start tab then click on

Control Panel -> Internet Options -> Advanced tab -> Reset button.

This disables all Add-ons, clears all the temp files and resets all changed settings.
If this does not work, reinstall Internet explorer, its free and easy from to download go to the following Microsoft web link: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/default.aspx

Hope This Helps. Please don't forget to rate me.

Many Thanks

There are different options to diagnose the problem. Either:

* Check your network cable if it properly connected to the ethernet port
* restart your modem/router
* Check internet explorer if there is an available update.

Why i cant open internet explorer

When you click the Internet Explorer icon, window may flash a second and quits. Or, it may show an Error-Reporting dialog. This may be due to a malware Browser Helper Object which causes Internet Explorer process to terminate. If you see the Error-Reporting dialog, click "to see what data this report contains" and identify the Module Name causing this error. In most cases, it may be the malware DLL; in which case, reinstalling Internet Explorer may not help.

1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
2. Double-click Internet Options.
3. Click the Advanced tab.
4. Under Browsing, clear the Enable third-party browser extensions (requires restart) check box.
5. Restart Internet Explorer.

Download Ad-Aware from www.lavasoftusa.com and follow this:
1. Start Ad-Aware.
2. Click "Check for Updates", "Connect" and download the latest pattern file if available. and click Finish
3. Click "Start", "Next"
4. After the scan is finished, click "Next"
5. Select all the items (checkboxes)
Right click on any object in the "Scan result" list and choose [Select all objects]
6. Click Next and click OK to confirm removal.

Micro soft told me to get a fix for the tool bar. My internet connection just stopped responding until I closed out of the window i was in.

Goto TOOLS then go down to INTERNET OPTIONS then click on the ADVANCED TAB and right above ok and cancel there is a button to RESET internet explorer to defaults click on that and after that close internet explorer and reopen it and it should work.

Toolbars like google and yahoo can cause problems.

My dell d600 wont open web page but is connected to internet

Perform the Internet Explorer setup:

1- Open Internet Explorer and go to [Tools] and [Internet Options]
2- Click on "Connections" tab
3- Click on button that says "Setup" and follow the on-screen instructions

If the above doesn't work and your Internet Explorer worked in the last couple days, make sure your browser has not updated to the new Internet Explorer 8 version.
If you have another computer at this location, check if that one can connect to the internet and surf the web
If the above doesn't work (or is not available), your next option is to perform the "System Restore"
1- go to [Start], All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Restore
2- choose restore my computer to an earlier time and click next
3- choose a date when you last remember internet explorer working and on the window beside it (to the right) choose from the list either "system check point" or something that may be related to updates or Internet explorer (if nothing else, choose System check point)
4- Click next and after the restart, the computer will tell you if it restored successfully.
5- remember, you can only restore to the dates that are in "bold"

Let us know how it goes and rate us. :)
