Are you replacing one with the other or trying to wire them together? If the latter, why are you doing so? If you need more power, you'll want to buy a bigger power supply. I suppose you could wire it to use two, but you'd have to find a way to trigger the second power supply to come one or do it manually. I wouldn't try it unless it was an absolute last resort with no other options, though.

SOURCE: need to know what parts compatable to ATX-1523D

It's a Small Form Factor power supply.
4.9 inches Wide, 2.5 inches Tall, and 3.9 inches Long.

Put's out a maximum of 150 watts, (Supposedly)
Has the following power cables;

A) (1) 20-pin ATX main power cable:
http://www.playtool.com/pages/psuconnectors/connectors.html#atxmain20

The main power cable. Main power cable designs have moved up to the 24-pin design, with some main power cable connectors having a 20-pin connector, and a separate 4-pin connector

B) (1) 4-pin ATX +12 Volt power cable:
http://www.playtool.com/pages/psuconnectors/connectors.html#atx12v4

This power cable is power for Intel Pentium 4 processors, and on up.
I have a eMachines T-1090 in my shop. (Still works great) It has a Pentium III 933MHz processor. Didn't know Pentium 4's were offered.

C) (4) 4-pin Peripheral power cables.

(The connector on the end of the power cable, is referred to as a standard 4-pin Molex connector. This is a misnomer. Molex was/is, a company that made this style of connector first. The name Molex was on the connector. The name stuck with people. It's just like referring to an open end adjustable wrench, as a Crescent Wrench)

http://www.playtool.com/pages/psuconnectors/connectors.html#peripheral

D) (1) Floppy Drive power cable

Except for the size, and shape of this power supply, just about any low-end ATX power supply with a 4-pin +12 Volt power cable, would work.

More in additional comment.

How do I remove my bad power supply to put the new one in I just bought?

It just has 4 screws like regular power supply but is smaller. This is not a common power supply so search for smaller ones. MP4ATX30 doesn't seem to be compatible.

Not sure which plugs go where on the bestec atx300 power supply for gateway computer. remopved the old powere supply, but don't know which plug goes where on the new one.

I'll assume that your old PSU is also an ATX. First, the plug that has a few dozen wires arranged in a rectangle goes into the MB. Your PSU's ATX connector may be split into 2 parts: the AT portion and a square portion with 4 wires. Together, they make an ATX plug. You'll find some tiny plugs with 2-3 wires for your onboard fans. You might find a few slightly larger flat plugs with 4 wires for old floppy drives. The rest should be the regular MOLEX plugs and slim SATA power plugs for your drives.

short the color green and black of your atx... use a metal wire.. don't wory it won't harm you... just unplug all the connection that is connected from you ATX.... short the said wire then plug your ATX to the outlet.. if fan is running then there's no problem on your ATX.. if not then you need to replace a new one...

Unserviceable Computer power Supply

Not sure where you are located, but many communities have "clean-up" days where various items can be taken for recycling.

You might also call a local computer repair shop and ask what they do with their bad/obsolete parts. They may just let you drop it off with them to recycle it.

Also found this list of computer recycling companies:

Again, I don't know if you are close to any of them.

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya.

My computer ps is not providing power to the mother board or any of the periphals. It is a Bestec ps the led on the back of the supply flashes very slowly. Any suggestions before I go out and replace it?

Disconnect the ATX main connector, bridge (with a wire clip) the green wire and any black (negative) wire, this should allow you to power up the PSU... now take a digital multimeter and measure the voltages on the 3.3v (orange), 5.0v (red) & 12v (yellow) lines, you will need to place the negative lead off the DMM on any black (negative) wire to achieve this...

If your PSU is off specification ie. more than 5% variance this IS your issue.

FWIW Don't waste your money on another Bestec PSU

Bestec ATX-300-12EB3

There should be 12v coming from the yellow wire and 5v from red. Open PC and use a multimeter to check the voltage output connect negative probe to the power supply casing and the positive to the red and yellow wires from the molex connectors. If the readings are below the mentioned voltages then the PSU is faulty. Note if readings can be round off to the given values then the output is fine. cheers.

Power Supply Bestec ATX-300-12EB3- Rev: s4(S) 300-watts

yes if you can get the side plates unscrewed and the backplate plate uncrewed then the sides should lift off of the power supply now if you look at the board where all of the wires are it should be on the side by the power cord they are pretty small and some of them are soldered in so be carefull ok keep me posted ook best regards mike
