Go to https://www.toro.com/en/parts and enter your model number 71212, it will give you choices for parts, operator, etc.

There 3 ways. One take off lug nuts like a car.
Two have a rubber cap, remove a remove e-clip.
Third,there a nut to remove.

...... you will find the newer 38" decks are a very close match up.

Clean off all electrical battery cables free from corrosion and they maybe loose from vibration

You can go here and get a manual. Theres a $2 charge but it's worth it and will certainly help you.

Jump onto www.toro.com and download the free service manual for your machine. Note down all the details on the ID plate on the mower, you will need it to find the correct manual.....

I have 12-38 hxl, and if my grass is too tall, it will wedge under the cutting deck and lock the blades, and the belt willstart smoking white. With the motor off look under and see if you do not have something stuck (branches or grass).Also, check your sparkplug.
