Question about Sewing Machines

1 Answer

Singer futura 900. My test stitch on a scrap material looks fine. When I sew on the actual item I wish to fix the stitches go from the 10/in to 1/inch. They are all spread out and do not hold the seam together. Any suggestions?

Is the test stitch fabric the same as the actual item you need to sew, if not you might need to change the needle. also check the stitch length to make sure it's set correctly.

SOURCE: Brother vx790, my stitches are reversed ( top is on botom & bottom is on top )

It sounds like your tensions are out of adjustment. Your upper tension should be between 3-5 and make sure the tension in your bobbin case is not too tight as well. Pull the thread through the bobbin case and make sure it comes out with a small amount of resistance. If no resistance, tighten the tension just a bit, if too much resistance, loosen it just a small bit at a time.

SOURCE: Singer Touch Tronic 2001 Sewing Machine Stuck on Sewing Straight Stitch Only

I had a similar problem a couple of years ago. I finally figured out that I had the straight stitch needle plate (the one with the single hole), rather than the zig zag needle plate (the one with the curved hole). When I changed plates, it worked fine.

SOURCE: singer futura beeping every 8 stitches can you

Make sure your thread goes under the plate of the carrusel. If not the machine think is not threaded and it beeps. Thread the machine with your left hand and Pull the thread with your other hand to make sure it "clicks" to every part of the machine.

How do I just the tension on my Singer 621B

There is a nob for tension. Put scrap material under foot to sew. Dial tension run a couple of stitches that would be tight ,not good turn to right that loosens stitch. Keep trying till problem solved. Lots of patients .

Singer ce100 is skipping stitches when needle is in center position

You don't say what you are sewing so I'm going to give you general answers in hopes it helps.

1. Needles: There is no such thing as a universal needle. Make sure you are using the proper needle for your fabric. This goes for thread too... make sure it's sized for the needle.

2. Make sure the bobbin is threaded correctly (poorly wound bobbins will cause problems too)

3 Improperly threaded machine. Make sure you area threading it correctly with the foot in the UP position.

4. If you are a material puller... shop it. It is never good to pull your fabric through the machine as you sew.

5. Stitch length. simple rule: Fat fabric.. long stitch, fine/thin fabric short stitch.

I'm not familiar with your futura abut I've noticed new home machines take a way presser foot pressure adjustments... which can cause issues too.

The machine isn't making stitches. It's threaded correctly. I have been sewing leather recently and it's been acting up since then. I have cleaned the bobbin area. And have adjusted the tension...

Hello

Adjust the Stitch Length;

To make longer stitches, set the stitch length to a higher number. On many sewing machines, four is the longest possible stitch length and two is average.

To make shorter stitches, set the stitch length to a lower number. At a zero, the sewing machine may not actually make stitches, since the needle will go up and down in one place.

Cut a small scrap of fabric, preferably the same type you want to sew with.

Sew a few test stitches on the scrap. Examine the stitches to make sure they're the length you want.

Adjust the stitch length again as needed.
