Engine starts & runs at idle. Dies when switched to RUN & wont accelerate.

Sounds like its a fueling issue. With small tool 2 stroke engines when you pull the throttle you actually increase the amount of air the carb gets. In turn, this rush of air through the venturi of the carb draws more fuel into the cylinder. If your engine is cutting out or wont accelerate this is generally because the engine is either getting too much fuel or not enough for the fuel/air mix to burn effectively. It could also be air getting into the fueling system by means of a damaged fuel line or carb diaphragm. By all means clean the carbon from the exhaust and clean the air filter, they can only help the running of the engine. Hope this is of some help.

Replace cylinder in bottom boom on hiranger bucket truck

ive heard of folks doing it without a crane but i would not try it , alignment is too critical with getting guides and stops back in and with nothing to move boom that would be too difficult

anyways: suspend boom end with double straps from crane , disconnect hydraulic/electric swivels/plugs at truck end lift end of boom slightly with boom all the way extended straight out , remove acess panel (both sides) at jct of upper/lower boom section . remove C clip one side drive out pin oppisite side (wiggle boom to clear pin) locate stops in lower section boom end unbolt , slowly pull upper boom with crane away take care of hydraulic lines and electric wires set on floor on wood cribbing , locate bottom of cylinder truck end find C clip and pin Might be behind a trim cover that might need to be remove drive out pin also remove bottom cylinder hyd hose connect crane to cylinder end move out a foot or so remove top cyliinder hydraulic hose then carefully slide out cylinider with crane , Note if your valves are not tight and new oil will leak back and cause boom base to sag when you unhook hydraulic hoses , your gonna need to block this up with wood cribbing just in case

reverse removal process to install new one , also i would not just install a new seal (you can) with out having cylinder recromed I'll bet it's rusty thats what tears the seals up
and allways replace entire oil volume in hydraulics your old seal is in old oil not good for the new one

Replacing upper boom and can;'t seem to see where the torsion spring hooks back up

The torsion spring (flex driveshaft) in the upper boom has a square-shaped indent near one end (where the square end of the clutch drum rides) and is square shaped on the other end (where it mates with the top part of the lower boom). It should just slide right together. If it does not, it is either misaligned (turn flex drive to fix), or the clutch drum is real loose(tighten Torx screw inside it) or the flex drive itself is broken.

Ryobi string trimmer RY34420 has a non retracting pull cord. How do I fix it?

The starter assembly is between the motor and boom so you have to remove the boom from the motor housing. Usually one nut & bolt at the nose of the starter housing. There may be another lock bolt. You shouldn't have to remove the throttle cable and leads but it depends on how tight the factory installed them. Remove the starter housing. If you're real lucky all you have to do is pull some starter rope up past the pulley and wind the pulley in the direction the rope pulls back into the housing. You have to pull the rope around the pulley as you wind it. If the spring catches and builds tension you're good, wind it four or five times or enough to fully pull the rope back in. If the spring doesn't catch or releases every two or three turns it has to be replaced. You may have to replace the spring and container (PN638033001) and/or the easy start assembly (PN310022001).
