It may be repairable, but you will spend less money to replace it.
You did not mention if this is a CRT or a LCD monitor.
If it is a CRT the Rasters and flyback are faulty causing dead areas on the screen.
If it is a LCD then you are having pixels dying, and it will not last too much longer.
You may want to try it on another computer just to verify that it is not your video card.
