Question about Hardware & Accessories
Push button lid on rubbish bin is broken. Have a rod and a spring with two different ends. When you push the button the bin releases the lid at the front which must remove pressure from the spring forcing the lid to pop up in a hinge like manner.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Check your door switch as well, but you may want to start by replaceing the start button. You should hear a small click when the button is pushed down.

If you have an air compressor... use it. The fine dust can get in to the safety switch mechanism and create an insulation to the switch that prohibits current flow. If you DON'T have an air compressor (or cans of compressed air available at office supply stores), clean it as best you can with an old tooth brush and blowing really hard, then use a vacuum.

Push button? It should be a turn to the left to remove if it is a whirpool located at the bottom. These are twist out not push to release. The only push to releases are made by electrolux.
