'Dirty corona wire' would give black vertical lines, the white lines are more likely a result of a dirty laser window. Try to wipe the laser window with a (dry!) soft cloth. You can find the laser window if you remove toner/drum package and look on the "top" inside the machine, there should be a horizontal glass window there that should be cleaned.

Everything seems to indicate a dirty 'corona wire'. This seems to be the most common cause of vertical white lines running the length of a page when copying/sending. Below is a link to the User's guide for your machine with instructions for cleaning the corona and other care when using your fax machine. Best of luck.

Are you sure that there is no lines when you make copies?Because the scaner is used when you send faxes and when you copie, if sensor is bad or dirty lines would be wissible.

Copies leaves lines when put through the feeder, but not on the glass .......have cleaned and sprayed air can everywhere I can think of The Hp Printer is HP 3055 All in One printer

Most likely a fax has been sent or a page copied with 'white out' (Liquid Paper), still wet on the page. As the page feeds over the scanner, (a narrow strip of glass that runs across the width of the page along the feed path) the wet liquid paper comes off on the glass as a thin line and dries. Thereafter, when copying, scanning or sending a fax, the scanner light does not go through the liquid paper streak and the result when printed is a thin vertical line that runs the full length of the page.

If this is your problem: follow the path that the paper travels when sending a fax or making a copy, until you find the scanner (narrow glass strip). Take a clean, soft cloth and a small amount of methylated spirit (or white spirit) and remove the now dried Liquid Paper from the glass. Clean the whole strip ensuring that the glass is left clean and dry.

Getting a black strip in copy mode on X6575 lexmark printer. No line in print or test mode

Unwanted verticle line on fax copies

Most likely a fax has been sent or a page copied with 'white out' (Liquid Paper), still wet on the page. Thereafter, when copying, scanning or sending a fax, the scanner light does not go through the liquid paper streak and the result when printed is a thin vertical line that runs the full length of the page. If this is the cause you will also find that faxes you send to other people will also have this line (although faxes you receive are not affected by this problem with your machine).

To fix the problem: follow the path that the paper travels when sending a fax or making a copy, until you find the scanner (narrow glass strip). Take a clean, soft cloth and a small amount of methylated spirit (or white spirit) and remove the now dried Liquid Paper from the glass. Clean the whole strip ensuring that the glass is left clean and dry.

I get lines and can't read the right side of copies that I make with the 1270e. How do I fix this?

You have not specified why you can't read the right side of copies and I am assuming that the reason is because the 'lines' are covering the text. I can offer a solution to the lines issue.

Hi, first if you mean length of the page, remove the ink cartridge and see if a piece of paper is stuck on the roller where the power comes onto the paper, in line with that white line on the copy.

Black line when making copies

A line down a paper on either a printer or scanner is classic sign of scratched drum. The certainty of it is in the fact the line is at the same place each time. Drum needs to be replaced.

Don't forget to 4 star this solution.
