Check that your alternator is working. The alternator charges the car battery whilst the car is in motion. If this is not working, then your battery is being drained and not charged.
Check your car battery charge level. Ask Halfords (or if you have a car battery charger) to plug your battery into a charger/tester and see if a fault is here

Wont turn over

If your car is cranking/turning over slowly and then stops.. or struggles to turn over, suspect either the battery or the leads - particularly the black earth lead where it connects to the engine block/bodywork.

Check the leads for corrosion/breakage and tightness. Where the black earth lead connects to the engine block/bodywork - slightly loosen the retaining bolt and then retighten it - create a 'good earth' (and bear in mind that if you disconnect your battery you'll probably lose the radio code and will have to re-enter the code..). Then try starting it.

If it's still slow or sluggish/struggling to crank, then if you can, get a friend or neighbour to try and boost-start your car using booster cables. If your car starts - suspect a failing/discharged battery .. depending on whether the car is able to restart on your battery afterwards.

If your engine spins - cranks - but doesn't start then you have to suspect a faulty sensor. The usual culprits are the crankshaft or camshaft sensor .. or an ignition pack (coil). However, as you say you have a spark at the plugs it's unlikely to be an ignition pack/coil at fault.

Do you know anybody with an OBD .. a hand held diagnostic reader? It only takes a couple of minutes to do a diagnostic check and get error codes - if any. An identified error code will tell you what the fault is.. i.e crankshaft sensor or whatever..

If your battery is okay - check the wiring on the starter motor

Corrin, I think you're getting confused with 'turning over' and 'cranking'. They're both the same..

Probably a short in the wiring for the hands free kit, do you have that option? And yes it will eventually drain the battery!

Go back to the alternator for the problem as it is connected directly to the battery via the cable. Alternators charge rate is 14.5 to 15.5 volts and if it is only 13.8 volts then that is battery voltage for a good battery and this means that the alternator is not charging which indicates a diode has failed and discharging the battery

This really sounds like a problem with your battery. I know you said you checked it, but is it really putting out the appropriate voltage (12.66 volts) and CCAs? Even draining the battery once can damage it (especially in cold weather), and cold weather reduces the CCAs a battery can put out. A weak battery can cause those codes. When the vehicle hesitates to start, does that typically happen on colder mornings or after the car sat for longer periods of time? I would double-check your battery. If it's the original, it's near its end of life anyway.

I think you might want to change catagories, I found this under Bicycles. Also, I was curious as to how you can list it as a Quad Bike . . . Bike is a short term for Bicycle, Bi meaning 2 as in 2 wheels.

VW Golf starting problems

Most likely, the problem is the wiring. Over the years, corrosion builds up in the ground strap and positive lead to the starter (from the battery).

or the battery is old or the the starter is dying get it test at a shop for free.

Bluetooth wiring diagram

you will need to search for a wiring diagram for your model of car radio

car kit blue - connect to ignition cable OR connects to switched 12v cable going to radio
car kit red - Direct to +terminal of battery OR to constant 12v cable going to radio
car kit black - connects to GROUND going to radio
car kit yellow - connects to mute function of radio if your radio supports it.

OR
connect blue and red together and directly to battery
and connect black to Body of vehicle
(not recommended as could result in draining of battery, even thought the kit is supposed to prevent this).
