Question about la Nuova Era Cuadra V2 Espresso Machine

1 Answer

Reset epoca I have a problem where the machine doesn't heat after it initiates in the usual way by filling up the water tank. The heater just doesn't start. I have measured the impedance of the heating element. It seems to be OK. The only other thing I can think of is the pressure switch. But does that have a function before pressure is actually building up? Br. Peter

First disconnect from power. 1/ check if over temp trip has operated. 2/check the contacts on the pressure switch, should read zero ohms if machine is cold. 3/check to see if a relay is involved in circuit, if so check coil continuity and state of contacts. Franko

My Rancilio Epoca ST1 would not turn on yesterday so I unplugged the machine and plugged it back in and it started right up. Today I turned the machine on and it warmed and pressured up as usual and then...

That's a tough one, the only thing I can think of is checking the reset switch and the element with an ohms meter to see if they are functioning correctly, before moving on. The only reason the machine would turn itself off, would be lack of water in the main boiler and if it does not know there is water in the reservoir, or it cannot take water from the reservoir to fill the boiler, or the element is overheating so *** trips the reset.

Display on Saeco Magic Comfort+ says "Fill Watertank" even when tank is full. Removing and resetting does not help.

Hi
This is usually a magnet in the water tank or sensor inside the machine. First do you have the grey magnet in the water tank? If no magnet in the tank, that is the problem. The magnet floats when the tank is full and sinks when its empty. It sends a flux signal to the sensor inside the machine. If the sensor is bad inside it doesn't pick up the flux field and you get the "water tank empty" display.

New rancilio epoca s tank I turn on the switch 1, the boiler is filled and is activated. ok once the boiler is filled i turn resistance switch 2 ...but it doesnt work.

It should take about a 1/2 hour to warm up, are any lights flashing? Is the light on the second switch green? If not you might want to take off the left panel and find the thermal reset. Its mounted to the top side and has a little red button facing you. Press that to reset the unit.

Hi! I have a Rancilio epoca DE 2 group machine and the antivacuum valve spurts water as the machine is heating up. ow can I fix this? Please advise

Your boiler is flooding because the water level probe is not behaving properly. The machine thinks it needs water.

My rancilio epoca s1 won't start.

HI
Without being in front of it, there are a couple of things to check.
1. There is a reset button on top of the boiler. It is a black top with a red button in the center between 2 wires.
2. The water tank needs to be emptied and then refilled. That is the first things I would check.

My water will not get hot.

If machine is not heating with both the switches in the on position then, it is possible that the thermal reset has tripped, and needs to be reset, you will have to remove the top panel to find the red reset.

After starting dishwasher to do a normal wash with heated dry, the dishwasher stops and Clean light blinks 7 times, pauses and this continues until I reset the machine. After reset it goes to rinse only...

Hi

Please check if the clean light is blinking 7 times. If yes then please reset the power to the dishwasher. After, 5 minutes check if you are still getting the same error. If yes, then it is a water heating fault. To resolve this error try pressing this reset sequence-- Heat Dry - Normal - Heat Dry - Normal or High Temp - Air Dry - High Temp - Air Dry.

If this doesn’t work then its an issue with the heater circuit, door switch, wash pump not pumping the water past the heater efficiently or due to lack of water to heat. Please make sure that heater is not open circuited and is heating the water efficiently. If heater is fine then make sure water pressure is optimum and fill valve is working fine.

Please post back for further assistance.

Water safety sensor preventing heat up of boiler?

If the red light is on then the machine is not getting water and or level is low in boiler. Try this remove the bell looking softener and run it under the faucet to see if water flows through, it could be that is blocked and not letting water through, and if so then the reset switch for element might have tripped because machine has low water.

At the end of initial pressure-up after first turning my Epoca on in the morning, the pressure goes past 'normal' until it blows the escape valve. What is wrong? Thanks. Matt

The vent valve is stuck in the open position, leave the steam wand open, while the machine is heating until you hear it hissing, then close steam wand and machine should heat up properly. Replace the vent valve as soon as possible.

Rancilio epoca - heating element continue to stick on

It's the thermostat for certain.

Te release valve is put there it be sure the tank pressure doesn't get too high such as to cause a steam explosion/rupture of the tank.
