Antena ends look like regular radio plug ends. how do i adapt them to plug into my cobra 29

IF you are saying the coax end for the antenna has a connection like this:

Then there is a lot wrong. That antenna may not take a transmitter, it could be for a scanner only. You will have to replace the whole thing. If you put an rg-58 connection on it and it is the wrong antenna, you have wasted time and money. The SWR wont ever be right and you could blow out the finals in the radio.

Midland 98 low /no audio until mic is depressed, but no signal bar

there is definatly a problem here. Could be a crack in the PCB ,a cold solder joint , a loose wire , antenna SWR to high to much voltage going into the radio from the power amp. Take it to a tech to find out whats wrong,he can fix it faster then I can tell you how to concidering I don't have the set in front of me.

Everytime i plug my radio in it blows the fuse in the power cord...what could be wrong????

it has a diode in back of radio near power wires. If it got hooked up backwards one time it will blow this diode and fuses from then on. Replace that Black striped diode near transformer inside radio. its in the far right. You have to take radio apart and solder in a new one or get a pro to do it.

Radio stuck in transmit meter needle is slammed all the way to the right as soon as you turn unit on

Have you recently changed mics ? if so it is wired wrong, if not I would check for a shorted wire in the mic connector or the mic itself.
