Question about Belkin Wireless G Plus MIMO (F5D9230-4) Router (1010835)

1 Answer

I've got a problem with a Belkin G Plus mimo

The problem is with allowing game to connect with a server and exchange data. Thing is Internet works fine but when i try to connect to any server in the game, game stops at the proccec: gathering data from the game or something like it. and nothing goes after it. I've opened ports for a game but nothing has changed. I have no firewall exept one, built in at router\modem. How can i solve it?

Sounds like you've already had problems with belkin's interface. Configuring servers & NAT is a pain on belkins, at least I've always had probs with them.

Assuming you have Windows Firewall, Norton, Mcaffee & all other stuff like that NOT running on the PC,
The easiest way to get your game through any router is to put the PC in the router's DMZ during game play. The catch is sometimes the DMZ doesn't work right on Belkins. Sorry.

Anyhow, If you have opened ports you should be able to easily do the following.
Assign your all your PCs static IP address in the belkin subnet 192.168.2.xxx. Go into the belkin setup at 192.168.2.1 (no pass needed unless someone assigned one) and turn off DHCP.
Then put the Gamer in the DMZ. You'll have to poke around a bit for the right configuration pages but it's not that complicated.

Belkin F5D9230-4 won't allow a connection to M Exchange server

Login to your Belkin router and check to see if there is a firmware update available for your specific model. If so, download and install it as this may resolve the problem without doing anything else. (Be sure to save your configuration first)

The specifications for a F5D9230 state that it supports VPN passthrough so you shouldn't need to configure anything in the router itself. It may be necessary to open a few incoming ports but only as a last resort.

Would you also reply to this post and specify...
  1. What OS are you running on your pc?
  2. What VPN client are you using on your pc?
  3. Ask the administrator of the Exchange server if they're using PPTP or L2TP for VPN connections.
Another option would be to use OWA (Outlook Web Access) to access your email if it has been installed on the Exchange server.

Try to clear the cookies of your browser first. Also delete the browser history. If that did not help, try to reduce the MTU of the router. You can do it when you access the router's setup page through internet explorer http://192.168.2.1
