Nichodemus, you can thank the epa for this. All of the 2-stroke handhelds now come from the factory set up very lean. Almost every new 2-stroke that I have bought in the past few years has needed a carb adjustment, both on the low speed needle and the high speed needle. There are tamper resistant plugs over the adjustment screws on most carbs now. Unless you know what you are doing, the dealer will have to do this.
I had a similar issue with line trimmers, one turned out to be a mal-adjusted carburetor and the other a pin hole in the fuel line. The issue you are having sounds fuel related also. Will the trimmer run with the choke partially on? If so that could point to a lack of fuel to the engine is the culprit. Too much oil to fuel ratio can cause the symptom along with those mentioned above. I use Gold Sprctra oil, its pricey but I have seen two cycle stuff come to life after switching oils.
I know this is late. Did you ever find out what happened? I have the same model, and its done this twice now. Both times the dealer has adjusted the carb and made it ok, but I'd like to know what is actually causing the problem myself.

Sorry That is correct, I set it in gunk and soaked it overnight. cleaned all orafices.
y fuel lines caught a branch and yanked out of the carberator. I put then where I think they should go but now it starts well after priming but after 30 seconds stalls out and the primer ball is full of air bubbles. Any ideas?
When you say you have cleaned carburetor, have you taken it apart and cleaned all the small passages?
