Thank you for your fast response! I do a large amount of printing on a daily basis and I agree that the Oki is the best. I wonder if can access the rollers if I remove all of the cartridges. Is there a diagram anywhere that might show me where those are?

Don't know how well they are accessed in your machine but the transport rollers likely need to be cleaned/resurfaced or replaced. This is not normally a DIY project since most units require some disassembly to access the rollers and certain parts of the unit are fussy and easily damaged.
In my estimation, based on a couple of decades of service, the Oki line is the best available.

With any common sense, it won't hurt to remove the cartridges for a look-see.

I checked to see if Jim Intravia ever produced a service manual for your series but came up empty.
His publications were the best in the industry and I had a full set (for copiers) while in business.
Unfortunately they are of little use today since the technology has moved on.

There are mixed opinions on what one should use when cleaning rubber rollers; alcohol sometimes makes them worse (dries them out) but it depends on the material of which they are made.
Often, they have gotten too smooth to grip paper well and have to be roughened to restore them.
In some units this was a chronic problem and the rollers would have to be replaced to restore function.
There is also a chemical that can improve friction on older rollers called a 'rubber rejuvenator.' I've not tried it so will withhold judgement on it.
Depending on the material, I used a concoction including lacquer thinner, deodrized kerosene and a little MEK. The latter disolves old rubber.

The envelope printing problem in hp laser and inkjet printer?

Envelopes can cause many problems for laser printers. Choose envelopes that are close to 20-lb paper in weight and thickness. Also, make sure that the adhesive on the envelope is capable of withstanding the heat that the fuser puts out to keep the printing on the page. If you don’t, the envelopes will come out of the printer already sealed. If envelopes are coming out of the printer wrinkled, they may be too stiff for the paper path. Open the rear of the printer and let them exit at that location instead. This will help.thanks.

Envelopes wrinkles after running through printer

Minolta does recommend stuffing the lip inside the envelope before running. But I think it only helps with jamming. Plus high humidity can cause wrinkling.

Envelopes are getting wrinkled when run through the Brother DCP 9040CN. How can I prevent them?

Unfortunately when feeding envelopes it is quite common for them to wrinkle a little simply because of the way envelopes are folded. The paper is thicker in certain areas because of the folded paper and the glue that holds the envelope together. You could try different brands of envelopes some don't wrinkle as bad as others but in my 37 plus years of working on copiers and printers I have never seen any envelopes that won't wrinkle a little, you may just have to live with it.

FIRST printed page is quite wrinkled, the rest are fine

Hello sir;Try to print one page, when the paper process half way then stop the machine, remove the cartridge, check the paper is wrinkling, if yes ,that's meanspaper feed roller dirty or registration roller slipply, ortherwise, check the fusing unit, need to replace presure roller. The 2nd issue, you need to replace paper stop roller or rubber pad.

Envelopes get wrinkled while printing

The problem is likely the envelopes.
OK, I'll explain what is happening first.
If you think about it this way: The envelope has air in it, not alot but some, as it moves into the fuser "the heater" the air heats up and expands. If the envelope does not have enough "leaks" for the hot air to escape it creates a bubble in the envelope that gets squashed as it moves thru the fuser giving you the wrinkles.
Does that make sense?
Most envelopes (if you have ever looked closlely at them) have small openings in the corners that let the air escape.
Sometimes the opening are to small or not there at all.
Yes the heat can also seal the envelope. Usually not if you are using laser specific envelopes.

Now that was a long winded way of saying try new envelopes made for laser printers.
Hope this helps

Envelopes all come out of the printer wrinkled

Open the back of the printer. You will see 2 little blue levers on either side. Put them in the opposite direction, that is, if they are up, snap them down. I dont know the mechanics of this, but it worked for me.

Printing envelopes on HL4040CN

I just bought a HL-4040CN and all my envelopes wrinkled, regardless of the size, paper thickness or software settings (thin envelope, thick envelope, etc.). Here's how I solved the problem....Open the rear panel and you'll notice a small gray lever on each side, which is probably pointing to "A" on the scale (A, B, Envelope). Move both levers to "Envelope" and close the back panel. The troubleshooting manual says the levers should be moved back to "A" after printing the envelopes, but I left them in the Envelope position and can't see any difference when printing regular or test pages or envelopes, except the envelopes are no longer wrinkled. I called Brother and asked them if there was any reason why the levers can't stay in the Envelope position, and they told me they could be left there if it wasn't negatively affecting other documents. Now, I have a great printer that prints everything without any problems. Hope this helps.

My brother hl-5250dn printer is spitting out very wrinkled paper

It could be the fuser unit. If you open the door on the back of the printer and pull open the paper path tray you will see an orange colored roller. If this roller is wrinkled even just a little it will wrinkle the paper. I purchased fuser roller units for my 5240 and 5250 printers and replaced them myself and that corrected the problem. I got the fuser units from ebay.
