Hi.. the thottle cable has round end has poped out of its cam housing(gray plastic) inside the plastic carby... the only way to fix that is to remove the carby, but before you do clean your mower as you will create more issues if dirt/grass gets into the parts you will be working on...also take pictures before you start taking thing off, so you know how to reassemble it, as the carby will need to be taken apart....good luck

At lunchtime today I got in my car, tunred the engine on but when I put it into gear I have very little acceleration. The revs would only go to 15 on the dial. I couldn't pull away in the ca

Could be throttle cable has slipped. Lift bonnet and find where accelerator cable meets the carb to see if it's loose. If you are car savvy, you can try to tweak the throttle from the carb itself to see if revs increase..... But please be careful
Or you could get someone to press the pedal while you look for movement near to carburettor.... thats just for starters...
there are other reasons but check simple ones first... Red.

Volvo v40 will not rev and hesitates when pulling away

A lot of the newer Volvo and Ford cars have Electronic Accelerator / throttle pedals fitted which play up when worn.

Many complete Accelerator pedals are compatible with the Ford Focus cars in the UK.

Victa carburetor problems

Why you have a car carburetor fitted to a mower troubles me... I think you'll find you don't gain any power increases by having such a large carbie on there, if anything you'll simply flood the engine with air or fuel and will have great difficulty maintaining a stoichiometric ratio.

The fact that the motor will only run on choke indicated that it is getting too much air without choke, and not enough fuel. This would be due to the intake size being still too large and probably a restriction in the venturi flow near the jets causing lack of suction to draw fuel from the bowl which would be due to the mower engine not creating the same vacuum as a car engine.

My honest suggestion?
Put a Victa carbie back on it, it's probably not going to work...
If you want it to run harder, adjust the throttle assembly to rev harder, or change the governor position.

I have a 96 1200 bandit.when cold it revs up and down as it shud do but once warm when u let off the throttle and change gear the revs take few seconds to go down the engine still revs on etc. carbs av...

When a engine is cold the revs should be higher ( choke on ) but nit going up and down. If you release the accelerator and the engine still rev's up maybe the accelerator cables are not properly installed on the carbs. Also a air leak is possible. Check the cables and air leaks at manifold including the holes from manifold where vacuum gauges should insert when carb calibration is necessary. Those holes should have some caps on.

Hi, I have a 1999 Chico/Citi Golf. The revs stay above 1000 and do not want to drop, I do not even have to pull the choke out. How do I get my revs to drop back to 1000? It use to Idle just below 1000,...

Check that the choke accelerated idle cam is not stuck. Check that the throttle cable has not dislodged and the outer casing is riding on the bracket. Check that the throttle linkages are free and the throttle returns to the idle adjustment stop. If all these are correct, adjust the idle adjustment to obtain the correct idle speed. 700 - 800 rpm is about the right speed.

Motor wont rev up when starting cold with choke on trys to run on idle but will not rev up

the motor wont rev high on choke.the motor is suppose to fire once on choke. then turn the choke off.pull the start cord and the motor should start and run.check that the throttle conrol is on full. it should run fine.

Engine cuts out when given gas

if theres nothing wrong with it you should close the choke between half and quarter (depends on the engine) and gently rev the engine bit by bit till it warms up, you will find the revs increase with gas to a point but if you give it any more gas it will start to stall and cut out, you have to wait for it to warm up - by keeping the gas at the sweet spot where you get best revs without it cutting out - then slowly increase gas pressure as the engine warms up - you can press it a little bit more bit by bit as the engine warms up and the combustion gets better - eventually you will be able to press the gas fully kin and the engine will just run but sound bogged down or gasping for air - this is when to open the choke to the RUN position (or fully open) --- it's now ready to use.
To restart a hot engine when it's been stopped : 1 Prime the engine - 3 squirts - (you wont flood it - plus it lubricates the top of the cylinder with fresh 2 stroke and is good for the engine) 2 Hold gas a quarter way open 3 Pull cord! as soon as it fires give it an extra squeeze of gas to give the best chance of a clean start.

Engine over-run between gears

This is a very common problem for ford. I have the same thing every day. It is the computer not reading the temp. When it does that just tap the gas pedal.

Only idles with choke out

you have a dirty carburetor/carburetors. a good old fashioned carb cleaning will fix it up. here is a temporary fix that will get you going again. screw your idle mixture needles in ( counting the turns ) THEN SCREW THEM BACK OUT THE SAME NUMBER OF TURNS.
