Samsung plasma problems

We have a ps43d451a3 plasma and recently it has started displaying the autovisualisation split screen when we switch on the tv and then we have to turn it off by going to the picture menu. After some time of watching tv, it returns again. How do I turn this off permanently?

Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

SOURCE: picture is not coming on samsung spn4235

Remove the Power Supply cable to Y Main board and check the Vs voltage in Power Supply board.
1. Vs voltage is OK, replace the Logic board or Y Main board.
2. Vs voltage is NG, replace the Power Supply board.

SOURCE: 42 inch LG Plasma TV - Lost picture

Our LG 50" plasma tv screen went black after a popping noise but still had sound, after great diliberations decided to take the back off and have a peek!
We unplugged the tv and tested the fuses (there were three we could see) one had blown, the one on the left as you look at the back of the tv it also has one above it. We wrote the code/seriel number down and took the fuse to the electrical wholesalers Maplin and bought a pack of 10 fuses for £1.29 replaced the fuse in the tv and everything now fine!!!!!!
Hope this might be of use to anyone whose lost the picture after a loud popping/snacking noise but still has sound.

SOURCE: PLASMA DISPLAY STARTING UP. PLEASE WAIT

Un plug the power to the Plasma Screen and also to the Media Receiver for ten minutes. Disconnect the off the air antennas both A and B. After ten minutes plug in the plasma screen then the media receiver and turn on wi the remote control. You should now be back in operation. I was.
Also It may not be a bad digital tuner. The TV Guide feature is active even when the zip code is set to all 0s so if you have an over the air antenna attached the TV will look for the TV Guide info and if it can not find it because of a weak signal or the chanel it is tuned to does not carry that information the TV thinks that tuner does not work which triggers the 12 flashes. Also on power up the gray box with the waring message "Plasma Display Starting Up, Please Wait" appears and the screen is blank.

SOURCE: Samsung Plasma 42" TV - 2006

Hi, this is quite a common problem for plasma screens and LCD screens. The fluroscent backlight is more than likely faulty and would need replacing. The best thing to do is to take it to a service centre because there are no user servicable parts inside the plasma.

If unit not covered by warranty, you or qualified lcd technician will need to investigate unit's "switch-mode-power-supply" for common (all brands) defects that can be the cause of this type symptom. HAVE YOU BEEN TO YOUTUBE YET???? Go there first!!! Then come back to FIXYA and tell us what you will do. Do your research first, then and only then do a comment and rate this response on fixya. When "very strange" things start to occur with any type (plasma or CCFL) lcd display, the first place I would investigate is the power supply board!! 12fixlouie

SPLIT SCREEN ON 50'' PLASMA

If you talking about on one screen, you cant. BUT you can buy a TV card for your computer so that it will have a built in TV. so you can theoretically have split screen TV and computer. But what your thinking off only works on 2 or more player games consoles

Screen Problem

hi....Your tv picture is managed by several boards, the two specific ones are the ysus and the xsus. The Y controlls the horizontal pixelation and the X the verticle, if you are having horizontal problems then its the Ysus thats faulty, on this particular set, the Ysus board has two accompaning buffers that are particularly troublesome. I've had more than one of these sets in the shop recently with the same ailment.Sounds like your buffers are starting to go out. The screen is split horizontally by the two long skinny buffers attatched to the Y main, if the bottom one has one leg in the grave you'll be getting a partially black screen or no picture at all. The colored lines running through the screen are more typical of a failing buffer. Are you interested in taking this set apart and putting a couple hundred into fixing it?  When buffers go they usually take the Y main too. Worse case scenario you're gonna be out about $350 dollars to fix it yourself. Best case, a ribbon is loose on the bottom buffer and with a dismantle you'll be able to connect it again..

thank u rate me!!

Dear friend the black screen you see is the Dual NTSC Tuner Built in with Split Screen PIP, and the only way to disable it is by looking in to the user manual if you don't have it you can download it from the Samsung website, here is the link:
