HPs are junk. I threw my HP laptop in the trash after a year of frustrations.

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: WPA on a hp ze4805us laptop
I've had a ZE4805US for almost 4 years, and use a linksys wrt54gs wireless router. I use WPA encryption it works just fine for me. Everytime i reload the system with xp from the hp discs WPA is not in the options. The only thing i had to do to get it was do windows update + sp2. Then it's right there in the wireless settings. Hope this helps you out.

You should install Windows XP that came with your computer with the recovery program that is built-in with an HP computer. The Windows that comes with your computer includes all the drivers and software needed specifically for an HP Laptop.
Here's a link to HP's website outlining all the ways to Recover your Laptop and reinstall your Windows XP Operating System back to factory default including how to create a set of your own Recovery Disks:

If it's only a month old TAKE IT BACK.It's got to be hardware, like Mark said, make sure the fan's running, feel for air around the edges, find the opening and always give plenty of room there to circulate air. Also please remember if it blows out it also sucks in,so please keep it clean and free of debris. I'm a firm believer that that dust bunnies and heat are deadly to pc's and other electronics. That's my two cents, hope it helps. If I did please rate me. Thanks and good luck.
