Question about Dryers

1 Answer

Where is the filter/hose supposed to go??????

I've been given an old Creda tumble dryer model No 37305, it's a bit battered but apparently works fine but I've no idea how or if it should have a hose or a filter fitted to it. I thought dryers were supposed to have a hose to vent any hot air and something to catch the fluff but this seems not to have one. Does something fit on to the door? There are gaps in the door so I'm thinking maybe something actually fits to the front of the door and collects the fluff and vents out the air???? Please help as I am most confused

    Hi, thanks for the help.

I've looked underneath but there is nothing at all, nor on the sides. At closer inspection it seems as if something should definitely attach to the front of the door, a bit like a cars hubcap. I'll just have to search Ebay etc for something that looks right I think.

    Thanks again.

Hi. Is there a 4" jole that the vent could go in underneath the dryer? Some older model were set up that way. I have never heard of this brand but, it's an idea. Some models were set up to vent out the sides too.

How to fit belt on Creda Reversair 37643 Tumble dryer

New belt is very tight, so you have to use more strength. Put it on motor and all other on "drum". Spin it easily and slowly but with strength until its done.

Be carefully, use gloves.

How to fit creda thermostats

It depends on which make and model of tumble dryer you have as to how easy it is to replace the relevant parts. Some tumble dryers have heating elements that are easily accessible by removing the back panel, and can be tested for continuity or checked for obvious burning out or open circuit. Others though have their heating elements inside, which aren't accessible without stripping the dryer down we will try and cover as many as possible in or video tutorials section. Tumble dryer heating elements are always protected by thermal fuses and thermostats which are usually simple devices with 2 wires connected and have a bimetal strip inside them. They can be tested for continuity with a test meter.
The problem is that if a stat (thermostat) or t.o.c. (thermal overload cut-out) has gone open circuit, it may be for a reason. Overheating could have caused it by not being able to vent the air due to a blockage some ware. Blocked filters or even the machine not being allowed its ten minute cooling down period, Overloading can cause it as well. Sometimes they can go for no apparent reason. A blocked or severely kinked vent hosecan also cause overheating.

My creda reverseair tumberledryer won';t work. my

Hi

If you can hear the motor running and have also checked the belt tension and they are O.K., then the only thing I can think of is the Motor pulley, where the belt sits on.

Check that out and make sure it is not loose on the motor shaft, so that the motor turns but the pulley slips.
