Yes, if you have a wireless between the printer and the PC. you just have to login into the wireless, and isntall the printer as you have install it with the other PC.
if you done have wireless router, then the printer has to wireless enable, or have a woreless card installed.

Wireless connection!

Yes. Keep it plugged in to your desktop.
Do you have your home network configured? That has to be done first, between your desktop and laptop, etc., then under the printer's properties select "sharing", and share the printer from your Desktop.
Then to access the printer on your laptop, go to "add printers" Select "network printer", then select "browse", then browse your network for the "shared printer", and select it.
You will only be able to print through it if your PC is turned on.

Cannot share printer w/laptop(wireless)w/ PC

You need to share the printer. Go to your pc and open up the printers (Start button, Printers and Faxes). Right click on your printer that you want to share and then click sharing. Make sure share this printer is checked and list this printer in directory is checked. Now you should see the printer on the laptop when you click the Add printer and choose browse for printers or something to that effect. It will prompt you to install the drivers for this printer on the laptop. Click Yes or OK and you should be good to go. Make sure you have the printer turned on prior to doing any of this. You will also need the PC attached to the printer turned on when printing.

Wireless printing from laptop

If you have your laptop and pc networked you can simply "share the printer....If not, you have to do that first......then "Right click" on your canon printer icon in "Printers and Faxes", left click "sharing", select "share this printer and name it whatever you want.
Then go to "add printers" (on your Laptop), "add printer" (the add printer wizard comes up), click "next", slect "a network printer..", select "browse for Printer". In the next box you should see your home network, you may have to click on this to search for available resources, then you should see your printer, double click on it to transfer the files to your laptop. You can use this process for any and all printers you may have conected.
You are now sharing the printer from your PC, so keep in mind that it has to be "ON" in order to print from your laptop.

Wireless laptop cannot connect to network printer

Found this solution:
  1. On Vista PC go to "Control Panel" - "Printers" - "Add printer".
  2. - Believe or not, click "Add a local printer" (I know you want to add a network printer but that way it doesn't work).
  3. - Click "Create a new port" - "Local Port" - "Next"
  4. - In the next box you have to enter a port name like this:\\PC name\Printer name where "PC name" is the network name of the XP PC or Network Share where you have the printer and "Printer name" is the network name of that printer. Be careful with this names. Check in your XP PC "Control Panel" - "Printers and faxes" - "your printer" - right click - "share" - "share resources name"
  5. - Choose the manufacturer and printer model of the printer you are adding.
  6. - Now the printer will be added and you can print a test page or print something to test it.
Let me know if it's working for your config as it worked for me

Wireless printing

I assume you have a wireless network set up with a wireless router, since you said you have a wireless laptop.
You need to share the printer on the desktop. You also need to set up both computers to be on the same network (for example, WORKGROUP or MSHOME, or a name of your choosing).Once shared and on the same network, you can go to the laptop and add a printer--just tell it that it is a network printer.
A caution--to work without further hassle, both computers need to be running the same version of Windows. If not, you'll need the driver disk for the system on your laptop.

I have a PC(XP) connected to an Ornge Livebox; also a laptop with wireless connection to the Livebox, both working OK. How do I arrange for the laptop to use my Printer which is connected to the PC?

you have to enable printer sharing in the printers and faxes winsow pane. THen on the laptop go to the same pane and add a new printer, but select a network/LAN printer instead of a locally attached printer. THat should be all you need, just click through the prompts that come up and let it install any drivers it needs and you should be up and running.

COMPAC LAPTOPS

  1. turn on the computer that has the printer attached.
  2. configure computer to share (start/settings/printer-faxes/right click on default printer/select sharing tab/ select share this printer/ apply settings/OK)(This computer must also be connected to the router so your laptop will see it as a network device)
  3. on wireless laptop, add printer
  4. when prompted select network printer.

For my wifes ease of use I purchased for $20.00 network magic which auto configured all my devices and monitored any access to my wireless router so I could choose who could access my open router.
