Question about Craftsman 17.5 hp 42 in. Deck Lawn Tractor - CA Model
I need to know how to adjust the tension on the belt the belt is to loose when I engage the mower function there is not enough tension to move the blades I followed the belt diagram to a T. Is there a way to adjust the tension to make it tighter? thanks Paul
Hi Paul It sounds like the belt is worn, stretched, or possibly just two long for your machine. Save yourself a lot of aggrivation by checking your operator manual and getting exactly the right belt for your mower.
You don't say how old your machine is but if it has been mowing for many, many hours, the tensioning spring may need to be replaced. If that is the case you can order a new one at Sears.com
