The internal battery will not prevent a computer from booting. More than likely if you get nothing when you press the power button, its your Power Supply. Power supplies are easy to replace, should you have some mechanics skills. Take machine to a repair shop and ask them to test your power supply. If bad ask them for a replacement cost, for this model you should not need more than a 400 watt. While your there ask them how much to install for you.
All in all, you'll be out 80-100 bucks.

Hope my solution helps. Please rate my solution

Alert! system battery voltage is low

Hello there and welcome to fixya
This is a very common issue with these desktop units the cmos battery will only last from 2 t0 5 years depending on how it is used.
This battery sits on the motherboard so you will want to first unplug the computer then remove the outer cover to expose the internal parts then look for a coin sized silver battery that looks like a watch battery then replace the battery with a new one
radio shack has these then power up the computer and you will have to reset the time and date ok you will get a error about this. here is what the battery looks like

I have been given an old computer with Windows XP installed on it from work. I cannot get into it as the computer is password protected. How do I overcome this problem without reformatting and installing...

Best and easiest way to reset the password is to remove the CMOS battery (resembles a watch battery but larger) for a period of 30min. Once the battery is replaced, boot up and it should boot without asking for a password.

Computer won't turn on already replaced power

Try unplugging the PC for at least 10 mins. If that fails... it could be the BIOS failing to Boot. Leaving it unplugged my discharge the System and it may Boot, once it does it maybe best to update the BIOS. If the continues it will force you to replace the BIOS or the Motherboard. If the System is older than 3 years, I would replace the Motherboard and reinstall to a new hard drive and recover your data. Or buy a new system and recover your data by using a USB external HD Container.

Laptop was unplugged while still running ans now

This happens when the battery dies and there is insufficient detectable power to run the boot system. You must change out the battery with a fresh one, or plug in a good external power supply to get things started.

You may also need to let the internal battery charge a short time before the boot system sees enough available voltage to start all systems.

The mother board has a battery if thats the one you took out you reset the bios, Try pressing the delete simutanuosanly after turning on the computer then in the bios goto boot device priority and select your hard drive press f10 which is the save and exit. Try turning on your pc again and see if it boots off the hard drive make sure you give the computer time to re-boot itself after you change the setting in the bios.

Dell pc dimensio 5150 wont boot up

If the power light is blinking amber - The computer is receiving electrical power, but an internal power problem might exist.
Ensure that the voltage selection switch is set to match the AC power at your location (where power cord goes into unit).
Also try simply unplugging the unit from the wall outlet for a minute then plug it back in and boot it up.

EMachine T1440 will no boot on

There is a battery inside the pc, remove it and replace it with a new one. Leaving it unplugged for that long taxes the battery too much. This should help and also plug everything in and reset the power switch on the back.
