Stops after 4 mins

Can you hear the "whirl" of the fan? It is possible the fan is not turning & cooling the oven therefore it will shut down when it reaches a certain temperature. This could be caused by a supply fault to the fan or the fan motor, either way it would need to be tested by a qulified engineer.

Vent blower won't stop

I had the same problem with the fan not wanting to shut off after the repair. Once I set the clock though I was able to push the button to shut the fan off. So try setting your clock first and see if that helps.

We have a kenmore ultra wave microwave and the fan has stopped working and now the microwave won't operate. Any suggestions?

see this causes and fix it .God bless you
Exhaust Fan Motor If the exhaust fan does not run the fan motor might be bad. Remove the fan motor from the microwave oven and see if the blades can be turned by hand. They should turn very freely, if they're stiff the fan motor will need to be replaced. The fan motor can also burn out. To test this use an Ohm meter. The motor should have continuity. If it does
Thermostat If the microwave exhaust fan is not working the thermostat might be defective. The thermostat senses the air temperature and turns on the fan as needed, if it's defective it won't turn on the fan. Watch our video on testing thermostats.

Main Control Board If the microwave exhaust fan is not working check the exhaust fan motor and wiring. If they are good the main control board might be defective.

You should first be sure your filters are clean and that your ductwork is clear.

First the motor cooling fan quit working and then it was running without the cooling fan working and everything shut off. It is as if it is unplugged.

The cooling fan protects the magnetron from overheating when it is running, the magnetron has probably been damaged and has shorted due to the excessive heat that they generate and blown the main fuse in the microwave to stop any further damage. The repairs for parts and labor will not be justified and replacement in the long run will be cheaper.

Our Microwave keeps running and won't stop. It is

The fan you hear is probably the magnetron cooling fan and that, and the light, are probably both controlled by the electronics board that controls everything else. You might inquire online at Maytag or the Sears parts department to determine the cost of a replacement board but I suspect it will either not be available at all or cost 3/4 of a new microwave.

GE Microwave Profile Spacemaker Runs on its own

Your microwave turning on by itself is a "self preservation feature" of the GE Profile Advantium and maybe some other models. Read the manual, When your over the range oven gets warm enough, for whatever reason the venting fan comes on until a satisfactory oven temperature is reached. You are not permitted to shut the vent fan off. Also it seems a temperature near room temp must be achieved before it shuts the fan motor off, it is very annoying. We had to return our Advantium because of fan noise. I configured the ovens vent fan to the recirculate direction because we do not have a vent duct that exits the house over our range. When the vent fan acting as the ovens cooling fan automatically turned on we would have to leave the house to hear each other talk. Too bad we really liked the oven other than that major problem. My ge microwave after running for about 3 to 4 minute it shuts down and will not start up again for 30 minutes model # TH903659B JVM 1650 JVM 1651 what is the problem thanks

If the fan comes on when you put the unit into a cook cycle and all sounds normal otherwise, you most likely have a bad magnetron tube. (Google "GE magnetron failure" and watch how many complaints and articles pop up). The tube overheats and trips the thermal relay causing the unit to shut off until it cools back down and comes on.
Very, very common problem on these models although GE will not admit it.
